My favorite song to sing live! On my first tour with Nightwish I started to sing the ending differently, to add something to it. Then there was a concert DVD [2013’s Showtime, Storytime] showing this, and everyone wanted to keep hearing the new ending. It suddenly became a ‘thing’ - there was expectation, so it became special for me. Thank you everyone!

How very true. I had no clue who she was, but I saw her in 2013 when she was with Revamp, they opened for Sabaton and Iced Earth. It was at a small 200 person bar in Houston, Texas. After the local band opener I got a beer and went to smoke on the patio. Halfway through my second cig I heard an absolutely angelic siren call, calling out to me through the walls. I floated inside, like a cartoon character being dragged by the scent of a pie. I was absolutely awestruck by her voice and stage presence... The Floor hit me hard that night.

My husband died from brain cancer almost 2 years ago but when he was still by my side watching a Dutch tv show we were introduced to the very talented Floor Jansen. I dug deeper and found KZbin videos of her at The Wacken festival performing this song. After my husband died her music gave me so much comfort, I could forget my sorrow when listening to her voice, maybe because discovering her talent was one of the last things we did together. Also have come to appreciate the whole band and the members. Also love the voice and aura of Marco. Together with Floor they create magic.

While I think the Wacken performance had a better overall sound and aesthetic, the crowd in this one never fails to make me tear up as they chant along to Floor's headbanging. And right after the Floorgasm, those three people in the front row cover a wide range of human emotion: the girl (?) with heavy eye makeup on the left has her hands over her mouth in disbelief; the guy in the middle with his arms up has the biggest smile on his face, and the guy just next to him is stunned into a stupor. And of course that girl crying right after the guitar solo while being consoled is a beautiful thing to see. This song always moves me, but that Argentinian audience just takes it to another level.

Can everyone shut the fuck up about comparing Vocalists? If you don't like Floor then the simple solution is to not watch the video, if you are a true Nightwish fan you'll respect the decisions made. In my opinion Floor absolutely killed this song! Far better than Tarja and I was a big Tarja fan, Floor fits the roll perfectly.

Totally agree with you Randy, nothing wrong with Tarja but Floor is extremely polyvalent, she could do exactly what Tarja did with this song, (watch Floors olds vids singing Lyrica…) she gave it her own touch with the aprovement of the “boys”, remember that! which makes it sound way better for this type of music…the end of this song that she has created is just Epic…Tarja used to very smoothly say bye and go behind the rest of the boys, Floor stands right there with her powerful voice showing what she can bring to this amazing band. You will see what I mean in 2015 with the new album…just wait…

You must be the most ignorant fucking idiot on the planet earth if you try to evaporate the conversation about the Nightwish vocalists (gone and present). Tarja was THE vocalist for the Nightwish but got kicked out because she didn't feel that she got paid enough for her role, which was massive. Floor is just an employer for the Nightwish and will NEVER have the same connection and feel as Tarja had with the audience. She may be good but she will never be Tarja-good. A part of Nightwish died since Tarja left and that is the main reason many fans disagree with these changes. And fuck it was '98 when my older brother bought the first Nightwish album, this shit makes me realize how old I am (currently 30).

Yes they were. Imagine what the concertgoers must have experienced. Floor joined Nightwish just 2 months prior to this concert, and no one in attendance knew what she sounded like. They must have been skeptical at first as to whether or not she could live up to the vocals of Tarja. Only to be treated to their first Floorgasm. By the end of the concert, they were chanting Floor's name, and forgot all about Tarja.
