There is a saying in the Nightwish Army: Floor's windmills could power the entire nation of the Netherlands. 😅 Edit: If you want to know the real reason for Tuomas smiling? It is because Floor brought to life what he had always imagined in his mind the music he wrote would sound like. What most people don't know is that originally, after firing Tarja in 2005, Tuomas wanted Floor then. But Floor was actively touring with her own band at the time, After Forever. But lo and behold, 7 years later, Tuomas got his wish: He brought on Floor to finish the 2012/2013 tour. If you want to hear Floor sound soulful and slightly unsure of herself as a singer, watch "Ghost Love Score, Buenos Aires, 2012." Being earlier than Wacken 2013, Floor's performance in Buenos Aires is almost a combination of auditioning and asking for acceptance from the audience.

Nightwish starts the tour with Anette. In the middle of it all, a falling out occurs and Floor has to take over the microphone within 48 hours. Floor is officially just the temporary helper here. It was already agreed internally that she would be Nightwish's new singer. The audience in Wacken is special. Many have been coming there for years and call the area in front of the stage the Holy Ground. And your two cats are cuter than both of mine ;-)

Nice Reaction! When you hear Floor singing in her Classical Voice you start to hear a little bit more of what Floor is capable of when she sings. The song I Want My Tears Back from this same concert is a good song. You will get to see another member of the band who plays various different instruments. His name is Troy and joined Nightwish the same time as Floor.

You have to remember - WoA sells out a year in advance and thus NW lead singer when this sold out was Anette. As a single person in this crowd, we were introduced to Floor (some people were familiar if they had been to other venues), but a lot of us hadn't heard her as part of NW. We were blown away from the beginning. Technically, she still wasn't a member of the band yet here - but it about to happen. Ten years on, they've never looked back.

There had been some fighting with Anette over some private things during the production and tour of Dark Passion Play (songs from the album). There were also rough times and hard feelings aimed toward the departure of Tarja ("Bye, Bye Beautiful") and aimed at Tarja's husband ("Master, Passion, Greed" - sung by Marco). There was so much bitterness that Tarja sang a solo song called "Enough". After DPP, the Imaginaerum album/tour was supposed to be a fresh start - but fighting with Anette continued.

Please react to a band called Epica, it is a Dutch symphonic metal band, some compare it to Nightwish, but Epica is a more complex band, it has everything from beautiful ballads to songs with black metal tendencies. I recommend to start with 2 songs that would be opposite poles, the first is Once Upon a Nightmare and the second The Essence of Silence.

A lot of the parts of Anette's album songs were prerecorded for when she was live on stage but Floor now sings them live - she even offered to sing the high part that the choir boy sang in the beginning of Poet and the Pendulum but Tuomas told her "that was not necessary"
