Here is the incredible part you guys just said what the world do you do after this what do you do for an encore? The amazing thing is that you guys have already been through the three big songs greatest show on Earth ghost love score and poet and the pendulum but you still have only tapped the tip of the iceberg...... I've been a fan of these guys for about 3 years and I had the pleasure of seeing them in New York City on mother's day of this year and I've been to a couple metal concerts and I've been to a bunch of others I've never seen anyone cry before at a concert until I saw nightwish live!!! Definitely looking forward to the rest of your journey because it's only just begun....... Greetings from New Jersey!!!!

The BIG EPIC one! 🌎 WE WERE HERE! The history of Earth in 24 minutes of audible art. It is a tree in front of Tuomas’s keyboards, that has some human-like qualities. Troy does play the tin whistle, but this was the low whistle. This is definitely one that has a lot to take in. The thing is, the more you listen to it, the better it gets. It’s a masterpiece that deserves to live on forever.

Hi Crissy here, Another amazing masterpiece from Night Wish . I have not yet delved deeply into the lyrics on this one...I perceive this song is depicting a variety pack of views on creation. Historical views from more than one perspective I adhere to my faith, All the while I see the artistic expression of Tuomas' observations of the world I ,myself. being a lyricist/composer find The song is breathtaking. Nevertheless I am who I am { a small human} here to honor a BIG GOD When it came to creation. Big BANG, who made it go BANG? GOD!!!!!!DID!!!! Simply put, no PHD required . We love you all ,Night Wish and the Night Wish Army, We Love God, and God Bless us all!

Fun fact: Floor's parents were there in the audience, making Tampere 2015 an extra special concert for her. She was at peak vocal performance there i.m.o. (Marko as well). If you guys feel like doing something a little different than usual at some point (or just for personal viewing), I have a tip for you. There's a lovely mini-documentary about Floor. It's English subbed, done for Dutch TV. Floor's parents were interviewed right after the sound check at this legendary Tampere concert. There's also a "day after" interview where Floor says something about the terrible burn-out she suffered in 2011, only one year before she got that famous phone call from Tuomas. And then there's Tuomas' famous words "She's right at home, doing this". So here goes, Floor "back to school" with her former classmates from the Rock Academy: "Floor Jansen in Dutch show Reunion (Tampere 2015)". If you guys are interested I'll post the link in a follow-up comment so as to avoid possible YT filters putting this message in your "spam" box. Cheers from Amsterdam! 🤘

Tuomas was about to make this 45 min long but had to shorten it because it had to fit to an album with other songs. He tells the 4,6 billion years timeframe now in 23 minutes. There are six members on stage by the way...as you seen the ending bow. This song has so many tracks that it was technically almost impossible to record. The album version is longer having nature voices and sounds of sea etc too.
@Donna-C2 жыл бұрын
There are so many “hidden gems” that Tuomas included in the lyrics & the music. 19:00 The musical tributes include animals, African tribal drumming, then through the Gregorian chant in Dies Irae (Mozart), Bach’s Minuet in G Major followed by his famous Fugue in D Minor, followed by American banjo music, Metallica’s Enter Sandman riff (!!!), finally ending in Rap/Hip-Hop and 90s dance music. Pretty Good isn’t it?!!

It's sunday morning here in Finland and I'm waking up my neighbours with this song! 😁🤘Nightwish songs are timeless, been listening to their music since 1997, and they just keep getting better! And in this song hearing the whole history of solar system, fireworks representing planets/star forming up and then life emerging from oceans and ending up to the humans evolving from apes to modern civilization is just an epic piece of art!
@chriso67192 жыл бұрын
The song is about the formation of the solar system and the evolution of life on Earth. Their Magnum Opus in the opinion of many. Extra special night for Floor, her parents and sister were in the audience. The spoken parts are voiced by evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins, who wrote the books the song was inspired by. From the 2015 Endless Forms most Beautiful album, the first recorded with Floor and Kai on drums. It has themes of science and reason with inspiration from the evolutionary theories of Darwin and Dawkins. Troy's part starts with Irish Low Whistle. He has a tin whistle, but that is smaller. ( His part at Wembley starts with guitar with EBOW) Yes ,Kai plays Pearl drums. The song is divided into 5 parts, the first is entitled 4.6. As in 4.6 billion years- the age of the Earth. The fireworks and keyboard hits seem to equate to the early bombardment of the Earth by Comets, Asteroids, and Meteors. 'Archean horizon, the first sunrise on a pristine Gaia' is talking about the early earth. L.U.C.A.- last universal common ancestor- the last lifeform from which all current life on earth descends. Lucy of the AFAR. When found in 1974, it was the oldest human ancestor remains found dating to about 3.2 million years. Enter rat kind. Some theories suggest that rats will take over after man's time is done. There was even a section on the evolution of music, which included pieces of music from J.S. Bach, Metallica's Enter Sandman and EDM. WE WERE HERE !!! 6 people on stage . Tuomas, Emppu, Marko, Kai, Floor, and Troy. The final spoken part (over the credits) is a quote from Darwin's book 'The Origin of Species' That quote at the Wembley version featured Richard Dawkins on stage with the band while reading it. Hell of a way to end a concert. 🤘🤘 Crissy, Floor's range is listed as C3 to F6.

Epica is opening for Sabaton on US tour, fun fact: Floor's husband, Hannes is a drummer for Sabaton. It's another amazing band you should check out. Sabaton is a metal band from Sweden and they sing about history using awesome heavy metal music, they also have their own history channel: Sabaton History, where they explain historical background of the events and/or persons the song is about. I believe you might like their song The Last Stand, it's about the sack of Rome in 1527, when 189 members of the Swiss Guard defended the Pope so he can escape, only 42 of them survived and escorted him to Castel Sant'angelo. Nightwish and Sabaton are my favorite bands right now. Sabaton music may not be as complex as Nightwish, but it's awesome, fun and most amazing way to learn history

I think that it is Tuomas' way of expressing his love of nature. You called it Animal & Kamikaze, "Groot". It looks like Groot being crucified to represent mankind's killing of the old growth forests around the world. IMHO. This is Tuomas' Grand Opus. The members of Nightwish are all lovers of the natural world and all living things. The evolution of life and the universe IS "The Greatest Show on Earth"! Loved it 2ndHand Souls. 🤘🤘🤘🤘 Animal still needs to check out "Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean" live from Buenos Aires 2018. Crank it up to 11! Go for it Kamikaze. It takes lots of hard work to achieve the best vocal techniques. Even growling and using fry for distortion on your voice without causing damage to the chords. The sky is the limit if you have the ambition and drive to work to attain you dreams.

@@randalladams7692 okay. 🙂 They themselves tell the tale like this: "Once upon a time... It’s July, 1996. A hidden campfire looms on the island in the middle of Lake Pyhäjärvi, Kitee. Then at midnight, something happens that has far-reaching consequences. Tuomas Holopainen has an idea of a solo project that would play atmospheric “mood music.” The idea quickly crystallises: the sound would include acoustic guitars, flutes, strings, piano - and female vocals. Guitarist Erno “Emppu” Vuorinen and vocalist Tarja Turunen soon join the project."

So you guys went right to "the greatest show on earth".. I would have urged you to wait a bit. But now you have banked all of the "big 3". And this one becomes better for every time you listen to it. In your own time, check out the Wembley version. In some aspects it's even better than the Tampere-version 🙂

Best Regards from my Home Town Tampere, Finland! Yes, I was there and yes, it is the best day/evening still in my life!! The only "negative" thing over all with this Ratina Stadium is, that every event/concert has to end by 10 pm (middle of the Tampere City) and we did not want them to stop at all!!!! So it was a great and long day, cause I wanted to the front row and the Special Guest bands were also amazing, both also Finnish bands: "Sonata Arctica" and "Children of Bodom" (Aleksi Laiho, RIP).

This old Metal/Rock head thanks you for your reaction , insight and just your passion for exploring not the rabbit hole of these epic bands but the wormhole because it’s depth is endless. Watching your utter astonishment takes me back over 20 years of the feelings I had when I first heard Nightwish thank you! I am really enjoying your journey! FYI- the magic of Nightwish is the love & respect the band has for each other, the crew & the fans! Tuomas has the ability to make everyone listening and experiencing his art to make you feel that your a big part of it! During the shutdown all proceeds from album sales, merchandise etc went to the roadies, support crew etc to help them thru the lockdown. My suggestion is to start reacting to each concert from the beginning, maybe do two songs each time in sequence. The energy & emotional passion continues throughout the concert not only the band & crew but the fans are emotionally spent! Ghost Love Score at Wacken was the 13th song of a 15th song set. Greatest Show On Earth Tempere was of course the last song of the show. Of course this is just my humble suggestion it’s your journey. Epica- Sancta Terra feat Floor Jansen live at their retrospective show would be a great one to do next! God Bless Rock On Stay Safe!🙏🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Its October. You guys gotta get your first taste of Annette (Nightwish' 2nd singer, the one before Floor). You got to react to "Scaretale" live. Also you have to watch "Greatest Show on Earth" live from Wembley because there's a very special surprise at the end.

Thanks for your reaction guys, you are quickly seeing the level of theses artists. There is no band like them in history and probably never be blessed to see someone like them again. They are just beyond phenomenal.

All the props are in keeping - Troy is sitting on a giant ammonite. My No 2 after Poet is Song of Mysrlf. Would love to see your reaction to the live version from Wacken 2013. Also Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean from Buenos Aires 2018...

Who'd have thought that a bunch of God fearing hillbilly's could have such insight and taste in enjoying the wonders of such a great band. I'm sure you folks would be a hoot around the campfire. I commend you all for being real and genuine with your reactions. You're all very relatable and that's rare these days...😎🎏

The stand of Tuomas is indeed Groot, he is a big Disney fan! Troy is playing the Uillean pipes, he can play anything he wants and sings as well.

Fantastic reaction guys, loving coming on your Nightwish journey with you, its really great to be part of. I think you should ultimately react to everything, the entire Wacken show, Wembley, Tampere, Buenos Aires and right up to this year's Hellfest performance - you won't regret it, it is all amazing 🤘

🤩👌💥💯 OPUS PERFECTUM* ... Simply, what comes to "Rock'n'Roll" performances in live by far... Not a thing taken away of any other live performances by them of "The Greatest Show On Earth" nor few exceptional live shows from other bands/artists. Thought provoking lyricism, "o' my goodness" kind of a top level production, effordlessly executed instrumentation by all of them thinking you have to keep on rockin' along with the backing track, playing as a unit with your 'brothers in arms' etc. etc. On top of that you have the priviledge to show all of this awesomeness at your 'home base' on a maqnificent late summer evening in "The Land of the Thousand Lakes"(more closer to 189 000 lakes) 🇫🇮 So nice reaction lady and gentle - men. 🤘😎 🇫🇮 💙

Every dose of you definitely pushes back my depression for a significant while. You are such a lovable bunch. Keep up all the good stuff that you do, please. Perhaps you might think I'm pulling your legs if I said that is not "the big one" in terms of their performances. But, it is not. You will find nothing but love here in the Nightwish family and some of our newer brothers and sisters may not know yet. I have been a fan of this band since 1998. It still gets much better! Try "The devil in the deep, dark ocean" Live in Buenos Aires 2019 next and you will see that there are many levels yet to climb with this band. And if you like that one, it still gets better!

There are more than 600 sound tracks!! mixed to create this masterpiece. But who's counting - not you or us in the Nightwish Army - we are very quiet and just experiencing Richard Dawkins book 'The Greatest Show on Earth' - in sublime music and singing. Great reaction from you 👍 🤘 🤘 I am a bit sorry that we didn't warn you - Nightwish are highly addictive 😂 Fun fact - this song was originally 30 minutes - but were cut down to this lenght, while they all contributed in the finishing, during their summer camp by the lake. There are around 24 small documentary clips of the making of the album 'Endless forms most beautiful'

By the way - maybe it's time to something completely stripped down to Floor and Troy - but still completely mind blowing. It was because of this Troy started calling Floor's voice for 'Stratospheric' How is the Heart - acoustic version from Planet Rock Radio 2020 - a promotion tour Floor and Troy did in the spring 2020. Their latest album is less heavy than previous stuff but shows how impressive Thuomas is. The album was written for Floor so she is not "covering" the previous singers. On top of that, it has songs mainly sang by Marco and Troy. One of the songs actually is a tribute to Floor that she only found out later on. Try to find out which one :) The album is a continuation of The Greatest Show on Earth. The first song "Music" is such an amazing piece and if you pay attention to every detail, you`ll know what I mean. The first part of the album is a tribute to Humanity (and to a special man - Eugene Shoemaker) with it`s good and bad things. The second part... oh my... the most amazing set of symphonic music I have ever listened to.. ending with Ad Astra. Barely no vocals, except for choirs. The London Symphonic Orchestra at its best. Please, once you react to the newest album, do it by the order of the album.
