The '-sister' suffix is euphemism or parody of calling the rest of the pack of guys "brothers" or "-bros." It is done across a multitude of boards at this point, especially /v/, where it's used by people who are not fans of a game circle to give a slight irony as a fellow fan. It's a contemporary equivalent of ironically calling a group or circle girly or sissy; and i don't see these hypocrites up in arms every day about P*ssy being used as a harsh derogatory. While there might be people who would use substitutes for slurs (I've never seen it happen, but it's possible), I wouldn't expect 4chan users to do anything other than outright say any slurs they intended. It is not a slur. But NijiSisters did start from 4chan but it refers to a very specific group of nijisanji fans who frequent a certain doxxsite. They get a specific name because they have a specific behaviour of posting doxx pictures every time they lose an argument. Overtime Nijisisters becomes the name for any hardcore Nijisanji fans.

I know I commented on another post , I forgot whose , but in the design industry to post a picture after designing it ( I did work as a intern as a digital marketing designer ) the client would get angry if you made a mistake once they check + noticed / some would question you , if people just post either they are in a rush or did not realize that there was a grammar mistake . Nijisister I do feel has negative connotation to it. But not because of some outside influence, rather because the group of people associated with it are a negative group of people. It won't matter what term is used to describe the group involved as as soon as the name becomes associated with the group it will gain that same negative connotation. While I have little doubt there are a few cases where people have tried to make the word more than a reference to the group it is not widely accepted as such.

Nijisister isn't a slur, nor will it ever be. It appeared after the Niji fans THEMSELVES started calling each other "sisters" in discord servers. And 4Chan doesn't use that word as a substitute for anything, if 4Chan want to call you a slur they will (nijin** exists). And no, someone changing a word to give it a negative view doesn't mean that the original, untouched word is suddenly wrong to use (how does that even work?). Expect nijisisters to start calling you racist in waves as a quick "gotcha" (in their minds) to avoid real criticism.
