Completely agree with Nikhil Ji, I am a woman with 48yrs of age with 2 children, son Lt Cdr in Navy, daughter done fashion designing. Successfully established my kids and husband, but some where I think I wasted my 30yrs of life in bringing up them. It’s the society who really convince us to get married , hv kids, but what about the dreams we had in our childhood of exploring the world ,living life as we wish. Once u hv kids you are bound to nurture them, and support till they get married and established. Getting married and having children is a personal choice. And parents and society must understand that.

Life would still seem wasted if you would have remained unmarried and no kids. The grass on the other side is always greener. Then you would have thought how enjoyable life would have been with husband and kids. And all I have now is just money and pics on mountains. I disagree with the idea that being in a relationship limits your ability to grow and evolve. Why can’t people who are in a relationship evolve together, as a couple and as individuals? You are still your own person even if you are in a relationship. What Nikhil said is already proven by Abdul Kalam and Ratan Tata. They were in constant pursuit of excellence. While many limited their definition of family to spouse and kin, they looked at their work as their family. Lata Mangeshkar is another example. All these people lived for their work and There are many millennials in India who believe in that and have decided to go that path despite societal pressure.

Let me tell you my example how a woman beside you can contribute to your growth, I work in US and got laid off few months back, on VISA I had only 60 days to land a new job. This means I have to start applying and getting into interviews ASAP. My wife supported me through the process by working with me initially on Resume, then she took all household chores (she is working woman) and didn't let me do anything as she saw how exhaustive the nature of Job interviews are. Whenever I had any negative thought whether I can do it she always reminded me the things I did till now that wasn't easy professionally. After 30 days I had 2 offers and both were better than last job. So, you need a partner who is beside you when you are down to bring you up. In good times you always have people around you, its the bad times when you need the support of someone and its always your parent or partner.

Totally agree 100% with Nikhil. This kind of a mindset only comes after spending a lot of time alone and in isolation. Inner Self exploration and self discovery is the first step towards spirituality. This is what we have kept hearing for all these years from people who walk towards the spiritual path. The guests are pretty impatient to not let him speak and rather interrupt while he is still speaking. This shows there isn’t much receiving power mentally. Very less people truely understand the others point of view and will quickly judge them instead of trying to understand from a different perspective. The bottom line is the more one is lonely, the more they’d love to be surrounded with people or family as it’s an easy escape from sitting with oneself and being emotionally dependent on others/family/friends etc.

Being alone and having no kids is not bad as you think.Life becomes poetic and blissful,once you experience the true essence of it. I practiced being alone since age 7 and never regretted it even after 4 decades. Not sure if you have noticed it, after a while most words we exchange towards one another gets recycled,and words have lost its magic as well when uttered mechanically,with no sincirity. I have a friend since 3 decades with whom i only exchanged smiles or enjoyed eating food , the most used/recycled phrase in our conversartion is " have a nice day and how are you" with a smile but with sincerity. I do agree . Decision to get married and have kids is entirely a thing of choice. Rather than being pushed by the society, doing bad parenting just becos you don't feel the need to invest your time in kids, being single is much better. Some people do evolve more when they are alone as one tends to go deeeper in a quest to know themselves, investing time on their growth. It should be entirely a personal choice and should come from within whether or not to have kids. Life can also be lived around other people and being helpful to them. Contribution to society matters. you are touching the most affluent part of the society. Just less than a percent or two. Also, country like India where relations are seen from a different perspective or a dimension of a life. I might be wrong, but I guess Osho sometime said we should not have social structure like a marriage, just like elephants if someone wants babies, they can have it, but babies are part of bigger caring structure. Babies grow better due to different capabilities/weakness of adults in the group. Earlier due to joint families it used to happen naturally, just not possible now.

I believe inclusiveness is a significant character in evolving. Having a partner is one of the greatest way of improving our inclusiveness with integrity by shedding ourselves. But that doesn't mean you definitely need to have a life companion. Though its a choice, most of the people would need that. The key is, taking that decision consciously. Partner or not, conscious decision matters.

Then the cycle continues - bringing up kids.... At the end of the day, think whether it's worth all this ? We have one life . Your birth is not an accident. The universe has a purpose in creating you.ls it worth getting caught in the intricacies of "society defined" lives or connect with the higher powers to fulfil your task on earth ? I feel it's okay not going for marriage or kids. If one feels it's not for them. It's not. It all comes down to it being a choice. I see this all the time. When society sees a person not choosing the conventional path idk why but they can't accept it. In reality no one really knows what's going to happen. So why not let it be your decision and do something you feel would work for you.

Hmm u seem to have gone through some relationship mishap, happens to the best of people . Agree that being alone leaves u with more freedom and the fact that u can live life on your terms, having lived alone for the majority of my life , however marrying for love has been a great experience for me as well having my daughter is a blessing I won’t give up for anything ..however it’s your life your call ..all I’ll say is keep an open mind to anything and congrats for sharing half your wealth with society .take care and stay blessed.
