I'm thinking about upgrading from my Nikon D3400 to the Nikon D7500. I know my kit lenses that came with the D3400 would work on the D7500.
@mortis79577 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the in-depth review. I've had the D7500 for over a month now and I think it's an excellent cam for everything I use it for; a substantial improvement having come from a D7000. You said you can use your old manual focus lenses. The D7500 does not have the A1 indexing tab as was on the previous 7xxx series cam, so you'd have to use live view to judge exposure before taking a shot with those lenses.

Thanks for the clarification on the lenses. I have a couple of old manual focus AI Nikkors, but didn't try them out with the body. My fault! The dangers of speaking extemporaneously rather than doing proper research. -- Jim

I own this camera ...I have for 6 months It’s awesome for photography and vlog ...one memory card is not an issue ...I’ve never had a card fail 4K is beautiful but honestly it’s DSLR not video camera It’s great in low light 51 focus points ...honestly if you can’t focus with 51 points give up photography serious It’s all about lenses It has the same sensor and same processor as the D500 .... This is really really good camera and honestly I’m getting awesome shots with it ..even landscapes with the tamron 10-24 VC HLD

Excellent review. First to mention that the 51 focus points cover the full viewfinder in 1.3 crop mode

So you can use your cell as the monitor so you don’t have to look in the view finder?
@PCMag3 жыл бұрын
Yes. You get the same view that would normally go on the camera's rear LCD on your phone screen via the Nikon SnapBridge app.

I have a couple of Hasselblad lenses - but I don’t see if they can be manually attached and used (as they can with my old D7100)
@PCMag6 жыл бұрын
Yes, via a V to F adapter. I've got one somewhere and have used it on full-frame Nikons before. You do need to set the CPU lens data (focal length/max aperture) via the menu as you do when using other non-AI lenses.

Big Question, just bought the D7500 for videoing and I see that one can get a Atmos Ninja V monitor, plug a Nikon body directly into the monitor HDMI and get a “better” recording... but I’m not seeing that the D7500 is supported (yet) and if that better recording correct, technically?

I love this camera! I got mine for $800 and it works great! Edit: To the people who says you can't use a manual only lenses, no you can but you need to know how to use manual lenses. I use my 1950's and 1970's non ai lenses and it works great!

Why get D7500? ur downgrading and going backwards instead of forwards , u should be getting D7200 or D500, why buy a camera , all the best features are taken away from.
@MehdiRF7 жыл бұрын
I just bought it! It’s FAST and ACCURATE, waaay better than D7200. I don’t care about battery grip/second memory slot. I had D7200, Not fast enough for sports/wildlife shooting and I never liked it’s ergonomics and the D500 is very big camera for my hands. This camera is awesome! Just try it..

ie Atomos Ninja V 5" 4K HDMI Recording Monitor for 4K HD video... compatible?
@PCMag6 жыл бұрын
Yes. The D7500's HDMI port outputs a clean signal for use with an external recorder. You will still have to deal with the 1.5x crop when shooting 4K video to an external recorder.
@TheGeoDaddy6 жыл бұрын
Got it! One more question has come up, is the recording considered “raw” or “uncompressed” ie better than what is compressed (lossless) into the camera’s body? Might I expect better (more) bits that I can work with in FCPX and DaVinci, mainly for color correction?
@PCMag6 жыл бұрын
@@TheGeoDaddy The output signal is uncompressed, 4K at 4:2:2 sampling. There is a flat profile available, so you should have more leverage for color correction, though the actual format of the recorded footage is up to the recorder. ProRes is still compressed, just more efficiently and with less loss than say in-camera H.264.
