The Nikon D80 was a highly capable camera with a long list of advanced features and uses. This camera arrived in 2006 and was one of the cameras that set the tone, tempo, and pace of future Nikon DSLR models. This three-part video series examines the Nikon D80 in depth and covers every feature, function, and menu item. The videos are:
Video 1 (this video) covers the overall camera layout and interface and describes what each item on the camera is.
Video 2 details the operational elements, modes, and most setup items (everything except the menu items).
Video 3 covers every menu item and explains what each item is and how it affects your photography.

The "dummy port" 6:21 is the infrared receiver for the ML-L3 remote unit. For me this camera is great, I use the b&w mode, b&w straight to the card no need to play with software.

This camera with a 10MP CCD sensor can be had for $100 with a lens. Its image is more "slide film like" than any CCD point and shoot/compact camera that are being sold @ $200+.
