Nikon Z (or Any) Lens Function Button! | What Does It Do?

highlight weighted metering. I'm normally happy with matrix, but every now and then it's handy to instantly have access to that.

I love the lens function buttons. I have 1 mapped to the grid display and 2 mapped to switch between FX and DX. I also use the Fn ring for aperture. (Lenses where this is relevant are the 24-120 and 100-400).

I didnot use the lens function button, I OWN the 6ii a few months and it is really a job to learn all about this camera, to make it my own. So thank you for this very clear presentation . I am sure this will help me in the field.

ok great video, I have this z 24-120 set the L-Fn button to 100% but can you take the image shot magnified? I tried but it takes only zoomed out original image.

No, my understanding is this is to allow you to view exactly what you are focused on at 100%. To get that photo you’d still need to zoom in if you wanted that shot. Thanks for watching! 📸😎

Cheers for this blog....seeing something done helps. I have been learning about my camera's fuctionsz 7.2. I have struggled With firmware updates and just about got my adapter firm ware done. The simple way Nikon have constructed the lens button and camera programming is only simple when you know how.luckly its not complacated.So now I programmed my lens The 105 z. The others I will down i pop them in to the camera.So cheers. A how to upgrade the firm ware for Nikon would be helpful. Really the how too blogs don't explain the full process they taKe it as given you know how to transfer files. But I now have a full working lens in my bag again cheers .

That I’m not 100% on to be totally honest as I only have one lens with the button. However, I’m assuming that you would need to do it once and the camera would remember the previous setting, but that’s just speculation. Thanks for watching! 😎👊🏻
