My father always wanted to build a log cabin. He was a woodsmen all his life, at the age of 75 he was able to free up some time. With help from a young friend they set about the task of building a cedar log cabin. The logs were cut and peeled 2 years earlier, now dry and ready to go. They both were ready to start as excited as my fathers life long plan was going to happen. They worked all summer and in the fall it was finished. The camp was built on a 41 acre wooded lot the camp sits on a ridge A river runs through it on the front.

Eintein once said that if given 1 hour to solve a problem he would spend 55 minutes thinking about the solution and 5 minutes executing it. Clearly sir, you have done your homework. Logging, clearing, grubbing, and building is the easy part. Having a vision of what the end state looks like, then reverse engineering the sequence of events so that energy and time is maximized, not wasted the true art form on display here. Congrats man! I'm in awe and this will be me as well...very soon.

I would work for free just to be able to learn from you. I love working with wood... it's very forgiving, love the smell of freshly cut wood, love the feel under my fingers when you're aligning two pieces together and you make it equal... and million other small things. When I was a kid (just finished elementary school) doctors told me that I was allergic to saw dust and it would only get worse with time. Fast forward 20 years and I'm working as a framer and I've been doing so for the past 7-8 years. This video right here is my unspoken dream come true for me. I really envy you (in a positive way lol) In the beginning of the video I've noticed that your tractor had a license plate that looked like Slovenian (Europe). If my assumptions are correct, the only thing I can add is "Bravo majstore, svaka ti čast!" And one more thing... I've noticed you've had some people around throughout the video but still majority of time I'm guessing there is nobody with you (winter scenes etc.). Is quite obvious you've got the skills but please stay safe nonetheless. Much love and respect my brother, greetings from Canada.

This hands down was the most interesting Log Cabin Build I have ever seen. From the precise tree dropping, to the devises and chain falls set up to raise and lower logs, was Roman time. You conquered every aspect of This build. The log scribing then saw cutting down to sanding to the exact line was always on point. You deserve that Beautiful Cabin in the Mountains. A priceless Sunset. What an amazing Man you are. Great Work. On to the next videos.

@Dr. Alias Tis a joke my good sir. The purpose of the comment is to be humorous to those who might have experience with the subject of the joke, by comparing the real life building of a house with the virtual building of a house. You also have no information on whether or not these individuals have crafted anything by hand. I, for one, play many video games and also build things by hand. May it in fact be you with the small penis, and you are compensating by being hostile and dismissive towards generations younger than you? Perhaps. In fact it is likely the case. You, good sir, are the kind of person that gives older generations a bad name on the Internet. TL:DR- *o k b o o m e r* (If you couldn't tell, this is a joke. No need for anyone to get their panties in a twist.)

Stunning documentary, the care he took to not only do this painstaking work, but also to stop what he was doing to carefully place the camera into position, walk back what he was doing, always thinking of the viewer-unbelievable. This man has to be one of the most self-disciplined individuals I have ever encountered. Most of us would have tried and given up after a few hours. Let there be no mistake-what he is doing is dangerous and he risks lots of injuries-but my impression is that he is a careful, cautious individual so is avoiding careless errors. Working late at night also increases the probability of injury due to fatigue. The silence is powerful-sure it would be interesting for those interested in actually building a log cabin to have some instructional dialogue, but for most of us this is not necessary. Those interested certainly are free to reach out to this videographer. Again, I'm stunned at what he is doing and has done. I'm so happy to see that he has millions of views! Congratulations, Mr. Rijavec!

Nik is an amazing man, I have an enormous amount of respect for him, his tenacity as well as his patience. I am not sure where this home is going to be located but it looks like paradise.. I haven’t met many men that have both the brain and braun to accomplish a project as complex as this. Nik, I wish you the very best… I hope that when you finish this home you share it with someone who appreciate you…. Best wishes to you and yours… I admire you… I am a retired and disabled after 40 years of running a business. I appreciate your efforts, I am you latest subscriber…

The Slavic dude is the best I have ever seen, and I rarely watch the other homesteader videos which are all mostly staged. Can U not feel the sweat coming off his forehead, and this Slavic bro of mine just wipes it off n works like a horse for another 12 hours.
