I used to work in the slush business. $300 is a steal for something like that, very impressive for how fast it freezes as well. A retail slush machine you see at a convenience store goes for around $2500 and the freeze time is almost similar. This is definitely a great deal if you’re someone who loves slushies.

Compressor ice cream machines can be found on Amazon under$100, make single servings if desired, and have only two items to clean, the paddle and bucket. Also, anything made with milk or cream in the Ninja produces lots of foam and the resulting drink has too much air in it. Ice cream machines stir instead of churn the mix, so no foam. It does not matter if you have a very tall glass that does not fit under the dispencing spout. Move the gadget on the edge of the counter and hold the glass in your hand under the spout. I have multiple Ninja gadgets, and they always work just as promised. This is expensive for the little use I would get out of it. But if one has few kids, I could see it being beneficial. Use a juicer to extract juice from carrots, beets, any veggies, and fruits, and make them to healthy slushy. Then, use the remaining fruit/veggie fibers to make to a bread in a bread maker. I have Nutribullet juicer and always use the remaining fibers in bread. We need more fiber in diet and that way nothing goes to waste. It works even in bread machine. Or just put it in compost. Thanks for a great review once again. 😊

I bought one and was thinking along similar lines. The reality is that you will be shocked at how much sugar you have to add per drink to make slush instead of ice that freezes to the metal cylinder threatening to damage the machine. I brewed coffee with the regular amount of cream and sugar (1 tablespoon) that I would use per cup in my morning coffee. For the Slushi to work I had to use the equivalent of 3 tablespoons per 14 ounces of coffee to make slush instead of damaging ice. If the sugar level is too low you start hearing a thumping sound that gets progressively louder until it's alarmingly loud and gets your attention. Upon investigating, I found that the plastic parts were bending and warping because of the ice buildup. The low sugar alarm never activated. If left alone for a few more minutes I believe something on the machine would have broke.

The word frappe is called with the e. It's a greek original drink φραπέ. Although what the machine is making is not a frappe but a slushy coffee which we usually call Frappuccino.
@rob4canada3 ай бұрын
@8:25 In French,an é makes an "eh" sound. Resumé (rez-um-meh), Rosé (rose-eh), so frappé ( frap-peh or pay).
@hectorg58093 ай бұрын
It's "frap" in American English

Ninjas products are built in such a unique way, it really makes cleaning so easy. I have the juicer and it is so easy to use and clean

For me that would still be value at the $300 mark, but I'm going to wait to see if I can snag it at a lower price point during black friday. Also if someone has a small business imagine the improvement to morale adding an in house frappe machine.

I don't think I'd get this myself but if I did a lot of parties or cookouts it would be appealing. Having friends over to grill with frozen margaritas sounds like a blast.
@bcollarguy3 ай бұрын
Yes, but the wait time and small batching would be party killer. Margarittaville would have more pro's.

That seems like such a great gift for someone who is too sensible to spend that much money on their own.

Amazing product. Pricy, but in my opinion worthed. Makes 5 different types of drinks, and what is most important seems that is doing it properly.

You stated that the price might be a deterrent. Apparently not! Can't seem to find one. Walmart had them on sale for $249 and while they say that they have them..... they don't! Sold out! Great review! Subscribed!

Now there was a guy on another KZbin channel he did a review on it and what he noticed on the inside of that container there's a small little crevice that builds up whatever you're making and it's actually impossible to clean it out he has directed his toward the ninja company and basically all they just said to him is we're going to have our are tech people look into it. He then said that he most likely believes that the company will not redesign the product because they've already sold hundreds if not thousands of that model already. But before I seen your review james, the other person said he really liked this ninja slushie and it does all that it claims.

So it's literally a Polar Pop machine. And the special technology they are using to make that cylinder cold is a standard Refrigeration equipment

It's borderline commercial, in fact for a few hundred more you could get a commercial one that has 2 dispensers.
@Timmycoo3 ай бұрын
$300 isn't that bad for the versatility and the brand. It could be a lot of fun to play around with different mixtures etc. Not saying I would ever get one as I pretty much just use a blender with ice cubes lol and that works for me. But for the niche market, viable.
@HardxCorpsxKali3 ай бұрын
3:35 so here’s the thing with diet. You totally can. Just add maple syrup. You don’t taste it at all. If you don’t want to add any though just turn up the cold and keep pressing the button because it’ll beep and turn off on you…. It’s a b but it’s possible. It taste amazing too. But I just use a small amount of maple for my sugar if I don’t want to keep turning it on.
@kiwisoup3 ай бұрын
Maple syrup is just a different form of sugar. It's not "healthy". The best option for cutting sugar is allulose which will still allow freezing.

You should take the mixture from the frappe and freeze it and then put it in the Ninja Creami? I think that is what it is called and then make ice cream from it.
@SilvaDreams3 ай бұрын
As a fyi as someone who has to deal with 8 of these types of a machines on a daily basis at work they work best when the liquid completely covers the metal cylinder. It's actually advised not to let it run low like seen here as it can't properly cool and freeze the liquid and can even cease up the scraper/mixer.
@nielgregory1083 ай бұрын
This is not one those good machines you work with. It is designed to operate at the lower levels. It's a household unit, not a commercial one.

We love ours!! I have found when using soda, it seems flat. Haven't found a way to fix that. We love chocolate & Vanilla shakes (although the heavy Whipping cream causes a film on the inside that takes a bit extra to clean). We especially love our homemade version of the wallaby darned from Outback Steak House!

When I was a bartender years ago we got a slushie maker and the owner wanted dessert type drinks so I made some. I used real cream in it. The next day we had chocolate dessert butter because the cream got churned. None of us thought of that and one of my customers suggested it'd be great on waffles.

Ninja has a special disclaimer about dairy based beverages saying to dispense it within one hour. I'd imagine it's to avoid situations like that. You could maybe use coconut milk in place of dairy?

This seems best suited for the "party" house on the block. Where all the kids end up on sunny weekends or throughout the summer, and where all the best backyard barbeques are. Then it would make sense to spend all that time making LOTS of frozen drinks!

This is what I'm thinking of buying it for! I usually have 9 to 12 kids at my house in the summer 😂 be worth it for sure.

Yeah that's the only situation where I can see it being worth buying by comparison to just going to 7-11 or whatever or even using a blender if you want to make your own for that matter.
