I used to work in the slush business. $300 is a steal for something like that, very impressive for how fast it freezes as well. A retail slush machine you see at a convenience store goes for around $2500 and the freeze time is almost similar. This is definitely a great deal if you’re someone who loves slushies.

Retail slush machine break down all the time. But then again it work heavy duty depending on your store/company policy/SOP. A bit boujee for home use though. Thought about using for kindergarten but you can only do upwards of 5-6 cups of slushie at times isnt feasible in that situation.

I worked at a roller skating rink and the snack bar had two. I remember there was this stainless steel piece that I assume did the mixing. It broke and it cost the boss over I think 1000 dollars to buy a new piece. The machine itself was as I recall over 2500 Aus D

I'm also in the business and this price is in fact dirt cheap. It probably has to do with the capacity. The ones I'm operating are 12L and cost around $3000.

i used to be a bartender and this looks like the same mechanisms as we had, just with hopefully less breakdowns. it's clear that this works, but i'd be interested to see how long these machines last, i feel like our professional ones would always break down.

When I was a kid and used to see it in commercials, I was dying for my father to get me a snoopy snow cone maker but he never did. Whenever I had the urge to eat a slushi my father would get me a slushi from the neighborhood slushi man for 25¢. I have to admit they were really good but I would have really liked to make my own with the snoopy snow cone maker😁👍

This may or may not work, but its worth a shot. Spray the stained plastic with a little pan spray like Pam or something. I'm not sure if the coloring is the same as the torani mango smoothie mix, but if it is, but the oil based color gets lifted by the pan spray pretty easily. Pan spray works better than straight up oil probably because of the added lecithin and emulsifiers.

Compressor ice cream machines can be found on Amazon under$100, make single servings if desired, and have only two items to clean, the paddle and bucket. Also, anything made with milk or cream in the Ninja produces lots of foam and the resulting drink has too much air in it. Ice cream machines stir instead of churn the mix, so no foam. I wanted to love the Ninja Slushi, what it did was give me a greater appreciation for my Ice cream machine.

The warm air coming out the back is to be expected with a machine like that. Any refrigeration unit works by taking the heat inside and moving it outside (remember that cold doesn't exist, it's just the absence of thermal energy). Refrigerators are warm at the back for this reason, and your condenser unit on your AC at home pushes out hot air for this same reason.

It does not matter if you have a very tall glass that does not fit under the dispencing spout. Move the gadget on the edge of the counter and hold the glass in your hand under the spout. I have multiple Ninja gadgets, and they always work just as promised. This is expensive for the little use I would get out of it. But if one has few kids, I could see it being beneficial. Use a juicer to extract juice from carrots, beets, any veggies, and fruits, and make them to healthy slushy. Then, use the remaining fruit/veggie fibers to make to a bread in a bread maker. I have Nutribullet juicer and always use the remaining fibers in bread. We need more fiber in diet and that way nothing goes to waste. It works even in bread machine. Or just put it in compost. Thanks for a great review once again. 😊

I bought one and was thinking along similar lines. The reality is that you will be shocked at how much sugar you have to add per drink to make slush instead of ice that freezes to the metal cylinder threatening to damage the machine. I brewed coffee with the regular amount of cream and sugar (1 tablespoon) that I would use per cup in my morning coffee. For the Slushi to work I had to use the equivalent of 3 tablespoons per 14 ounces of coffee to make slush instead of damaging ice. If the sugar level is too low you start hearing a thumping sound that gets progressively louder until it's alarmingly loud and gets your attention. Upon investigating, I found that the plastic parts were bending and warping because of the ice buildup. The low sugar alarm never activated. If left alone for a few more minutes I believe something on the machine would have broke.

Now there was a guy on another KZbin channel he did a review on it and what he noticed on the inside of that container there's a small little crevice that builds up whatever you're making and it's actually impossible to clean it out he has directed his toward the ninja company and basically all they just said to him is we're going to have our are tech people look into it. He then said that he most likely believes that the company will not redesign the product because they've already sold hundreds if not thousands of that model already. But before I seen your review james, the other person said he really liked this ninja slushie and it does all that it claims.

$300 isn't that bad for the versatility and the brand. It could be a lot of fun to play around with different mixtures etc. Not saying I would ever get one as I pretty much just use a blender with ice cubes lol and that works for me. But for the niche market, viable.

3:35 so here’s the thing with diet. You totally can. Just add maple syrup. You don’t taste it at all. If you don’t want to add any though just turn up the cold and keep pressing the button because it’ll beep and turn off on you…. It’s a b but it’s possible. It taste amazing too. But I just use a small amount of maple for my sugar if I don’t want to keep turning it on.

Maple syrup is just a different form of sugar. It's not "healthy". The best option for cutting sugar is allulose which will still allow freezing.

As a fyi as someone who has to deal with 8 of these types of a machines on a daily basis at work they work best when the liquid completely covers the metal cylinder. It's actually advised not to let it run low like seen here as it can't properly cool and freeze the liquid and can even cease up the scraper/mixer.
