(yes I know I'm late) I have no idea from where this idea that the Gamecube is powerful comes. Xbox has almost twice the RAM, more than twice the CPU power, and about twice the GPU power. (Gamecube is my favorite console, it's just that the Xbox was by far the most powerful console of that generation)
@CamMojave
@CamMojave 7 жыл бұрын
No, the Xbox Original was :(
@1Sonicsky1
@1Sonicsky1 4 жыл бұрын
@@CringeHunterJon1 I know that this is old... However, the GameCube's CPU was more powerful than the Xbox's. Sure, the CPU of the Xbox was 733Mhz but it only had a 1.06GB/s FSB with a small 32Kbit L1 and 128Kbit L2 cache (basically a glorified Celeron CPU with the PIII architecture). The IBM CPU in the Gamecube was 485Mhz but had a 1.6GB/s FSB and two 32 Kbit L1 caches (1 for data and 1 for instructions) and a 256Kbit L2 cache. The IBM CPU was heavily geared toward 3D gaming and had SIMD instructions toward that end. The GPUs had very similar performance however, as both had a realistic rendering fillrate of around 600-700 Megapixels/sec. The Xbox had to share the 64MB of DDR ram across the CPU and GPU. The Gamecube had a dedicated 3MB on-chip SRAM for the GPU and 40MB of ram for the rest of the system. Basically, the GameCube was fairly powerful and made up for the slower CPU and GPU by optimization of the instruction sets and increasing the bandwidth of the data buses.

O.M.G. Ok, I didn't know anything of the Famicom Disk System music... That's probably the reason why I love Nintendo so much... Truly amazing.

I wonder who discovered that the GameCube's main menu sound is the Famicom opening sound just slowed down to a huge, huge extent and especially HOW he did it. Nikola Elitsov Yeah, It was called project dolphin and across many nintendo games on the gamecube you can find dolphins like in super smash sunshine and melee.

What was the song from the end, when the menu music was sped up? It sounds extremely familiar.

Did you know:the dark circle write "Game Cube" in the top os customisable? You can remove the stamp and put other one,like a super mario sunshine or a donkey kong one,but its too expensive

I got a black one, got Zelda, pikmin, and of course star wars: rouge leader. Do u think the NES sound is a coincidence, or purposefully put in there? My fav startup sound is the first one.

That "Ninja" type sound is an old Roland classic. It can be found on the JV-1080 synth with the Experience expansion card, as well as many other synths (may not have been Roland originally though). Interesting to hear it still doing the rounds. btw, weren't you Jay from The Inbetweeners? ;)
