I'm really ok with this as long as the new system can compete (at least a little) with the other systems as far as power goes. 3rd party games need to be able to be brought over. If they go the weak route again, there is no way they will see the success that the Switch saw. We'll see, but this is Nintendo...

@@roseforyoubabe i dont think it will even reach the grapical fidelity of the steamdeck. and tha deck is not as powerfull as the xbox seris s. even with the speculated dlss it will not be as powerfull. Because the switch 2 would need to be bigger to have a good enough cooling system. a powerfull chipset needs a good cooling system. If Nintdo fans would actually know how hardware work on a basic lievel, whe wold get this grazy speculations.

Nintendo has never tried to compete with hardware power, and they never will because they intentionally market themselves as the family friendly budget friendly console with tons of exclusives. Name once they’ve ever tried to compete with the power of their contemporaries.

@@speedy-ae8657 Hmm, you mean like the Super Nintendo.. the N64, or the Gamecube? They all competed in the power race... wasn't until the Wii that they gave up on competing in power and went the route you're talking about. This was a mistake and they paid for it with the Wiiu when they tried it again. The Switch was unique so it is on course to be the best selling console ever, but it won't happen twice in a row. They NEED 3rd party support if they plan on even coming within 50+ percent of the Switch (which I hope they do).

@@JGKingCrusher I agree with you as far as the super Nintendo and the N64 go. The N64 had three times as much power as the PlayStation one, but the PlayStation one had more by way of storage on their disc versus storage on a cartridge. I see where I was wrong there. However, when you look at the GameCube, it was actually much weaker than the PlayStation 2 and the Xbox. It didn’t sell well either, but then they repackaged the GameCube hardware with some extra bells and whistles, and called the Wii, which definitely outsold the more powerful Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The Wii U flopped for many other reasons other than hardware limitations. There were plenty of really dumb things Nintendo decided to do with the Wii U, but the hardware definitely was a massive step up from the Wii. Now, of course, it wasn’t as strong as a PlayStation 4, but again I think there were other reasons for it flopping like it did. The switch comes around and is still weaker than everything in the market, but it also outsold everything in the market. As long as Nintendo doesn’t screw it up with stupid gimmicks like they did the Wii U, then I firmly believe they can publish a console that is weaker than a PS5 by a lot still sell extremely well. that’s part of the reason. I’m so proud of them for allegedly delaying the release of their next console until next year so they can have a better starting lineup of games. They did not do that for the WiiU and it suffered dramatically for it.

@@Nine5Vader I think it shouldn't matter, because Zelda TP and WW were originally released on the Gamecube, and then Wii and Wii U even later, which means the switch is more than capable in running those games, and I don't think they would ever remake those games, just remaster, as it would take too much time where they can dedicated that time for the next actual Zelda release. It would make sense to remaster, because all they need is slightly sharper visuals, and that's it (maybe modern controls). Also, if the switch 2 is delayed for 2025, they may want something Zelda this year, which releasing one of those games, or both, would make sense. Saving a HD release for TOTK/BOTW for the switch 2.

Their both being sat on ready to go as nothing has to be done to them. Nows the time to bring one or both to the switch. My guess is the Wind Waker is first which is fine. Id be surprised if both are on a double pack. I wanted both since the switch was out.

I think Paper Mario TTYD being released in April makes sense, as FE4: Geneology of the Holy War in May, and Luigi's Mansion 2 HD in June. I can see more remakes and remasters for Metroid Prime 1 + 2, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD, and Some Pokemon spinoff/remake related stuff perhaps. Also, the 4 Microsoft IPs coming to Switch including Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves also sounds right. I'm also sure there are other NSO releases to keep appetized until the eventual March 2025 release of the next gen Switch.

You were going well until you mentioned Castlevania 64, we want good games on NSO and Castlevania 64 isn’t a good game and neither is Starflight, to be honest we have al the Sega games needed on NSO I would like to see more NES games like Rad Racer and the original Castlevania or Simon’s Quest.

Another thing to consider is Nintendo switch online. Which I know is in a big factor but we still don't have the original pokemon games or even generation two and three.. It's possible they could drop all at once. But I think it's more likely that we get a roadmap. And they stretch it out over period of three or six months.

I had an interesting thought about Zelda. They’re always working on the next Zelda. And when we heard about tears of the kingdom, it was said that they had so much Breath of the Wild DLC content that they decided to make a whole game. Maybe they had already had a all new Zelda game being worked on that could be coming out way sooner than we anticipate. Just a thought 🤔

They've got to give us the HD Zelda's this year, man. Especially if the Switch sucessor is backwards compatible it'll be fine. Just give us those Zelda games already, please! Lol. People have been waiting for these ports since 2017, I thought for sure those Zelda HD ports were a given considering they were porting Wii U games heavily early on but those no-brainers for whatever reason stayed behind. Dudes. Sometime next year there'll be a switch 2. Right now old switch is good embrace it. Think about it. There still selling. I want time to go slow to kerp playi ng nes Switch and its great library of games. I can read dome of yhe future i knew we were getting new games not a Switch 2 this year.
