Thanks for all these guides. Been watching you and FightingCowboy. I love how you include early game builds. I'm new to Nioh and coming from Dark Souls games I have a hard time adjusting my playstyle in Nioh. I can't dodge enemy attacks as easy as I could in DS, I need to stancedance and learn the range and timing of some attacks. I thought people said this game was easier, but right now (still in first mission) it is harder for me. These guides really help me through with picking my weapon/build of choice and have something to look forward too. And lets be honest, Dark Souls 3 was easier because I already knew how to play the game from Dark Souls 1 and 2. Now it's time to learn to play Nioh ^_^

Same here, RPGDivision is also a good power builder you should check him out, I used his duel swords build in Nioh, but didn't like heavy armor so changed to Red Demon and fire dual swords.

You're missing God of Wind 3 and Sign of the Cross; finishing the combo after God of Wind 3 with sign of the cross just flows extremely smoothly.

You don't appear to be performing Ki Pulses between your attacks. After you perform a combo, blue dots appear to float around you and then collect at your waist a second later. If you press R1 when these blue dots appear at your waist, you get 75% or more Ki back instantly, allowing you to perform 3 or 4 combos nonstop. If you are aware of this, I apologize for bringing this up, but a lot of new players don't understand our know of this technique. This Ki Pulse generation between combos: stunlock all but mini boss demons and greater foes, making the trash mobs trivial once you've mastered it. Great guide btw. I love your attention to detail.

I suggest adding the shifting ability for paralysis or corruption to the water sword skill. I find them super effective when using the switchglave’s retribution skills.

Ever tried God of Wind II & Sign of Cross with Finisher (If necessary) setup? I used to run that all the time in Nioh 1. I always thought Water Sword is too clunky and not worth building up for High Stance.

When you use a barrier talisman to dispel a Yokai Realm by touching them, does it count as purification? With the "Servant of the Gods" set bonus you gain health when purifying Yokai Realms. Does this work with the barrier talisman so you gain health by touching a Yokai Realm?

Eddie no, unfortunately. I stopped using that talisman for that reason. It also doesn’t generate anima when you clear a yokai pool with the barrier talisman activated. It’s kind of meh.

phantom has a "harder" window to hit burst and the attacks in yokai mode are kinda sub par but I've been using it because it looks cool

Is there a *rate* at which I should distribute stats? Like a 3:1:1 ratio for Skill, Heart, Dex or something? I just wanna *not* be doing piss-poor damage with dual swords like I seem to be doing by the third mission.

Pick one weapon. Figure out what stat it scales best on. Everything into that stat. Only ever touch another stat for your armor requirements, and yokai passive requirements.

Swords are still crazy good like they were in nioh 1. End game nioh one you could one shot a lot of things with the sword not to mention parry nearly everything and never get hit

Correction. He invested 0. 5 is base. Armor mitigates, toughness let's you block it. Stamina only really matters with hammer, spear, great axe, or if your face is your favorite shield. =P

Alexp1202 did you not watch? His reasoning is mostly because he stays in 1 stance. He even recommended having 2 dual swords, one for high stance, one for mid/low stance.
