Lovely soldering. I would recommend using a step drill bit rather than a spade drill bit to cut the hole in the plastic. Gives you more control over gradually increasing the size of the hole and without ragged edges. A spade drill bit is more suited to wood based materials.

This seems a bit over kill, why not just get a simple 2 pin switch and intercept the power cable for on and off? Also it's far better to crimp than solder as it gives more flexibility and won't crack and break the connection and you can always remove the mod if needed.
@Cleavatr0n Жыл бұрын

What does the circuit board do? You only touched two wires... I did this mod to my G35 years ago but just used a 1 dollar 2 pin switch to cut the power going to the gyroscope, if all this board does is that then an $81 (after conversion) kit is pretty unethical
@Lordbunson Жыл бұрын
Yeah I’m wondering what the purpose of the microcontroller is, can’t you just wire in a switch?
@richlincoln18242 жыл бұрын
love it, id like to do it too. Can i buy a factory switch and use that instead of drilling one into the blank though?
@Cleavatr0n Жыл бұрын
You can. I have aftermarket seats in my car, so I ended up utilizing one of the heated seat switches as the switch for this modification. I mainly did it due to the fact that you cannot tell anything has been tampered with.

@komodoensis-rex4 жыл бұрын
@Computerstar2000 Can you describe what the difference is between using the kit and just cutting power to the gyroscope using a $1 switch? Everything advertised as a feature of your pcb seems to be something a simple 2 pin switch can achieve, so I'm having a hard time understanding why your product exists.

@@computerstar2000 can you tell me what gauge wire you are using?

I've found just hitting the VDC button under the steering wheel area to be plenty of stability removal. The car will do donuts without interfering.
@pass_the_flask3 жыл бұрын
The YAW sensor is more for the stability control i.e. when you go around a corner and one wheel loses traction it will cut power to that wheel. Different to throttle induced traction loss i.e. traction control
@tobythomas50793 жыл бұрын
So one of the complaints with the standard Z was that to avoid 'agitating' the VDC, you had to drive the car a certain way on track and that meant you couldn't really trail the brakes into a corner if you wanted to, does this mod allow for better modulation of the brakes without any interference?
@RoadandRacetv3 жыл бұрын
Yes. No interference.
@tobythomas50793 жыл бұрын
@@RoadandRacetv That's nice, can you now get the tail involved by trailing brakes into the corner entry? I believe earlier, you sorta had to get the braking done a bit earlier, and then take a neutral to understeer stance mid corner?

Hey - awesome mod! Do you have any details on the wiring? I can't figure out how many wires your switch has. The ones I see generally have 4: - Earth - Dash light (so a secondary light turns on when the car turns on - I don't care about this) - Power In (yaw sensor cable) - Power Out (yaw sensor cable - other side) (the latter two connect when the switch is turned on to connect/disconnect the yaw sensor). I'm wondering how your power tap works to turn on your LED light?
