What are the actual torque specs for a Nissan 370z???
@alexissuarez809910 ай бұрын
hey man thanks alot for this video, i just got my 2019 370 and i was looking forward to do all the basic maintenance myself. I was just confused about one thing in the video, why do you need the transmission to be at 140F? is this required? also do you wait to hit that temperature after u pumped in the new transmission fluid?
@RideWNC10 ай бұрын
Manual calls for 140*. You fill up the transmission and a little more then get it to temp. With the engine running remove the level check plug. You want ATF to come out and come to a drip, then install the plug. There is not a dip stick. Nissan says this is lifetime fluid... NOPE!

Did you see where the fluid leaves the transmission and makes its way to the bottom of the radiator? I want to do this and add a transmission cooler. I know my valve body is likely toasted as I have the highly noted harsh shift from 3rd to 4th when the fluid is hot... From what I understand - the valves in the valve body have to be replaced but almost nobody does so... I think Level 10 offers an upgraded valve body service - but - why even bother - I plan to simply ditch the 7AT and go with the Q60 RS 7AT with the much larger TQ converter..."Someday" right? ;-) Appreciate the video - I live in a small town far far far away from any dealer and - with the ultra high turnover at the dealers - you're not getting the best/brightest working on the cars anymore.... plus - for whatever reason - they always want to hot rod my car - which I hate because I know they don't bother to warm up the car before doing so...

@@RideWNC thank you so much your my savior! One quick question though, once everything is sealed back up and all the new fluid is back in, you turn in the car and let it idle till temperature, then re open the fill plug and once it’s done draining you just reseal it and job done correct?
@RideWNC Жыл бұрын
@@julianpeden4688 That is the worst part. The cars has to be running when you climb under and remove that plug. I don't like being under a running car. The vacuum from the engine will keep the correct level of ATF any excess ATF will drain out. If this is done with the car off, It is the same as draining the pan, just from a different hole. If nothing comes out, you need to add fluid until it starts to come out. This is why I over fill. Overfilling won't hurt anything as long as you don't drive the car.
@taelorwatson9822 Жыл бұрын
Planning on having this done soon. I usually go to Infiniti. The shade tree was going to do it but now he's backing out. He recommended a transmission shop. They were talking about replacing the gasket and filter. Is there a brand of gasket and filter you would recommend? I was planning to do a drain and fill. I have 5 quarts. Do you think I'll need more than that? They told me they could get me the filter and gasket for 50 but I know I can get it for less. I bought the car with 156k it currently has 219k Had it flushed at 167k and drained and filled around 195k.

I did several drain and fills the first time I changed my fluid at about 80k km. I'm at 100k km now and thinking about dropping the pan this time to clean the pan and check the magnets. Not sure if thst filter needs cleaning unless you have a lot of loose debris in there

The filter is just a screen. You probably don't need to replace it. You will be amazed at how much crap is stuck to the magnets. Do have a new gasket available if yours is brittle.

Hi, very nice and detailed narration, thanks you. Just wondering why didn’t you use the upper fill bolt passenger side just above the pressure line, to refill it.. Any specific reason for that?
@RideWNC2 жыл бұрын
Upper fill are usually too difficult to get to. If you are pumping into the AT it is just as easy to pump the ATF into the level check hole in the pan. It would be nice if manufacturer would put the dip stick back.

How come did you check the level at 140F? I think you said 114F or 46C in your other video. I read on forms somewhere that it should be 104F does the temperature matter??
@RideWNC3 жыл бұрын
"ATF temperature must be maintained at 95-113 degrees Fahrenheit during ATF level check. If the ATF temperature is above 113 degrees F, stop the engine to allow the ATF to cool down." I don't see where it matters that much as long as it in not cold and is flowing through the system. I doubt it expands that much at highter temps. When I check the level, I don't completely drain every drip out of it. When the stream of ATF slows, I put the plug back in.

This video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/qnyWXnpqp7tjjtU) shows that between 140F and 104F there is something like 12mm diff on the dipstick (only on 350z, no dipstick on 370z). 12mm is also the difference between high and low level, so I think the temp matter.
