Not whats happening at all, honda doesnt have any battery development, nissan makes their own batteries and honda wants in on it. Nissan needs radio tech that honda has. Ironically honda needs help with transmissions that Nissan has figured out over years of making junk.

Best way forward would be for Nissan to put its efforts into making the leaf and other evs the best they can while Honda supports their hybrid and ice vehicles.
