You've done an amazing job of tweaking the chassis of your GTR to be better than low, you're doing a great job and I'd like to shake your hand for that.

Thanks man, happy to hear that. 😊 I did'nt do much, Öhlins and whiteline was there when I bought the car. I've added all the adjustable arms for allignment, but the big difference was when @andre82s2k /Atomic changed springs and gave the car a proper setup. That was night and day in comparison. 🤝

Thanks rrems, really appreciate it! 😊👍 I did do another trackday after this, where my potential best laptime dropped by allmost 3 seconds. More speed in the fast sections, and some corners I did'nt touch the brake when I have done before. That's coming up next. 😉

Thanks a lot man, exited to hear that you know what these cars are about, and what they can do! Or should be doing, 992 GT3RS are (in the right hands) in another league. But yeah, that was very fun to (sort of) keep up with the new rich man's toy in a 11 yo GT-R... Which is 1/3 or 1/4th of the price... :D Thanks again, consider subscribing, and you will see more of this.

Thanks man, appreciate it! Engine oil is'nt such a problem with the GT-R, as you can see, it rises 8 degrees C from start to finish. The gearbox temp is what's ending the show, I try not to let it go beyond 130C.

@@danpettersen1have you stripped your GTR of any weight? Amazing it can handle that well against much lighter cars that are close to race ready!
@danpettersen1 Жыл бұрын
@@davecom3 Well, some. The car was corner weighted 2 years ago, and the scale said 1710 kg. Not sure how the fuel level was then. I have removed some panels, mats and trim, I think It added up to be 30-40 kilos. But I'm tall and heavy driver, so we are probably looking at 1800 kg with me in it. 😅 But yeah, It handles amazingly for what it is.

Hey. Thank you! Dont know much to be honest. I think camber settings are -3.5 at the front and somewhere around -2.0 -2.5 at the rear. Dont know about the other settings. Guess you have to get in touch with Atomic and talk to Andrea if you'd like similar settings.

Just bought a 2016 gtr looking to do just handling mods. What break rotors and pads do you run? Did you ever try the a052 tire? I had those down to buy as well. Great driving
@danpettersen110 ай бұрын
Thanks! I currently run PFC 410mm front rotors with PFC pads, and Alcon rotors at the rear. I had Alcon at the front before the PFC's, they were just as good. Amazing performance, lasted 5 years with hard tracktime only. So I'll recommend those. Funny you should mention those, I actually have a new set of 052's on my shelf, so I'll be trying those out next season.

Great lap! I have a question regarding the steering wheel. Seems like you have to really extend your arms unless the camera makes it look that way.

Thank you! Yeah, that's the camera-view that does that. Think I went with a wide fov-setting, an then it looks a little wierd.

amazing, you need cup 2 R 305 square
@danpettersen1 Жыл бұрын
Thanks, I've actually thought about that. Was considering 305/30-20 AR1, but my front wheels are 10", so that's a tad wide. Cup 2R are beyond by budget, but I might try some Yokohama's. There was a test on YT about them, and they were significantly faster that AR1's...
@realmadspeed1785 Жыл бұрын
@@danpettersen1 i did cup 2 R 265f and 305R, needs a lot of camber front and will last about 1.5 attack lap before they overheat in front, but 2 sec faster on a 2mn lap easy
@danpettersen1 Жыл бұрын
Just saw you video from Magny Cours, great driving and that GT-R was wild! :) 265/305 is a big difference, think you would be better even with a cheaper tire, but squared. But that was your suggestion in the first place. I've heard that too from the Porsche guys running C2R's, you get one or maybe 2 fast laps around the Nürburging. BUT, then everything has to be right, if you encounter any traffic, that's 2500 euro's down the drain....
@realmadspeed1785 Жыл бұрын
@@danpettersen1 That is why i told you 305 square for the gtr is better, it will hold better. that said even used they ll be quicker than normal cup 2, it was 1.5 quicker than the 285/325 CUP 2 set up even with the downsizing.

Great stuff! Were you short shifting to keep temps down?
@danpettersen1 Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Are you refering to some places, or all the time? Ppl has commented that I upshift too early, but the max torque comes at 3000 rpm, and max hp starts from 5000 rpm and stays flat. So I dont need to drag the rpms. Nismo's are a different story, they perform to the redline. ;)
@BoostedR130 Жыл бұрын
@@danpettersen1 gotcha. Yea that makes sense on stock turbos. My old GTR tune would limit me to 6700 rpm’s so was just wondering if you had something similar.

You had the car 11 years? What issues have you had with it?
@danpettersen1 Жыл бұрын
No, the car is 11 years old. 2012 my. I had it since 2016. None really, until this year. Allways run like clockwork previously, but I had an oil-leak from one of the turbos this year, that meant I had to change the turbos. Other than that, is just wearing-parts such as brakes, tires, wheel-bearings, and some bushings and links here and there.
