It seems like a great setup for home recording, where milking an amp is often problematic. I’m amazed at how realistic it sounds !

It sounded really good...especially with the more high gain pedal - that video is coming out tomorrow. Yeah absolutely...great for home recording or for live use...put this at the end of your pedalboard and you have a live setup where you don't need an amp

Milking an amp is indeed problematic. You end up with the Sour Milk Blues ;)

First! Seems like a well-designed IR unit. I use a NU>X Solid Studio but I am not entirely happy with it. It has a brightness to it that I cant seem to eliminate.

Is there a diffrence having power amp emulation conpared to just a speaker emulation pedal or an ir loader pedal? Im using a neunaber iconoclast which is described as a speaker sim (with software tweakability) and it doesnt say anything about power amp emulation. I was able to get a good sound with a chasebliss brothers and condor combination but i found that it just lacks beef or fatness to the sound. Still working on the iconoclast which i love but im wondering if ir or speaker sims lack punch if there is no power amp emulation present.

I'm not 100% sure but I think it does make a difference - we have another video with the Cabloader coming out tomorrow - with a more high gain pedal...in that video Alex briefly turned the Power Amp sim off and it definitely sounded worse. On the REVV D20 Amp for example you can actually virtually change the poweramp tubes through the built in Two Notes Torpedo...and that does make quite a big difference in how the amp sounds. Not sure about the Neunaber stuff - I never had a chance to try any of it...lots of people seem to really like it though

No way. Why would anyone spend that much money on what is essentially a digital modeler?A BLUG is a much better option. I know how tempting it is to simply accept a product because of its branding. Strymon, Fender, ENGL... right? But no. Crap is crap no matter what box you put it in. Crappity crappola.

I think they are quite different things...this is essentially an IR loader, more like a Two Notes CAB M for example...you can use this with your tube Amp - which is what we have been using it for in a lot of our videos...we've been running our usual 1x12 cabinet and we use this to add a virtual cabinet (2x12, 4x12 etc...) to the mix. In this video we just wanted to show that you could simply put this at the end of your pedal board as a 'direct in' solution as well...especially if you have an Amp in a Box style pedal on your board! The Blug Amp 1 has built in speaker emulation but you could technically use this as an IR loader for the Amp 1.

@@TSFAHTPS Yeah but companies like Mooer offer IR loaders for around $120 (Mooer Radar)...which I believe include some amp models. I get the attraction, but I feel like someone could accomplish the same thing for a lot less money. No grIpes about your video. It was great. I just dont see the product as feasible for most struggling musicians who's main goal is to get the best tone for as little money as possible.

All good...I do think that its a really good sounding IR loader...but yeah you are right there are many other IR loaders out there...we might just do a shootout between a few
