What a wonderful homage to your mother. I learned to sew and crochet from my mom, too. The armoire is a great idea. It inspires me to repurpose other furniture in my house. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Monique, I think most of us crafters learned about crafting from our moms or grandmas. Love our similarities! I am so glad that I have, somehow, inspired you to repurpose other furniture in your house. I am sure whatever you decide to do would be amazing. Have a wonderful weekend ahead. Thanks for watching. Hugs ~ Josie :)

Ohhh...I would love to live near you. I really like your ideas and we like a lot of the same things. I learn too, with my mum to sew, but haven't do a lot and got a machine and never used it. You'll have to show us your sewing projects, too. I can't wait to see what you create. Have a wonderful week!
@LifeDIYJosie7 жыл бұрын
Aww, thank you ! That's the beauty of internet and social networking, we don't have to live near each other to share ideas. I am so happy to find people of same likes and hobbies. It's very interesting that we have a lot in common. I will certainly share my projects once I get started and get the hang of it. I am not good at sewing machines, I sew mostly by hand. However, machines make tighter stitches and better at thicker materials. Hope you have a wonderful week as well. TFW, hugs :)

Awesome! I never thought to buy a small sewing machine to use in my craft room to sew on tags and cards! My large one is too heavy for me to lug to my craft space from the closet where it's stored. So thank you for that reminder. Great homage for your Mother. I was watching a video earlier by another YouTub-er that I follow and she was crocheting a tassel, it brought back wonderful memories of my Grandmother teaching me to crochet and knit. I know I will be really rusty at it, but I'm going to add it to my craft time in the future. Thank you so much for showing an alternative for crafters with limited space. Really nice up cycle 😀

I really think most of us crafters learned firsthand from our mothers and grandmothers. As descendants, we owe it to them to continue the tradition. I am so glad that I am in good company with the fellow crafters that I meet here on YT. Thank you so much for sharing your story. It warms my heart. Hope you have a wonderful week. Tfw, XOXO :)

@LifeDIYJosie7 жыл бұрын
Hi kmscrap...that is wonderful...you will love it when you convert the empty armoire to something functional. As for the two hanging things, they do not hit the shelves of my armoire. There's enough clearance to allow me to add those and able to close freely. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. If you have any additional questions, please let me know. Hugs ~ Josie :)

I just sub. I think you are pretty smart and crafty. I want to make something to set on my craft table at the end. It can be as high as 24" tall. I would like clear. How about some 💡 for me to start.
@LifeDIYJosie7 жыл бұрын
Hi Judy, you can add one of those folding tables that you can buy form Lowes, Home Depot, Office Depot, or Staples. It is very inexpensive, durable, and you can easily fold it or storage behind the armoire when not in use. However, if you want something to make like a slide out table that is incorporated in the armoire, you can have one made using those rollers used inside the kitchen cabinets to store pots and pans, but replace it with a solid flat wood. Hope these ideas help. Thanks for watching and for your questions. Hugs ~ Josie :)
