Not sure if my comments pisted Sunday. So ill post again. Omg the bears were so cute,at a distance of course.. Cinnamon buns with icing are my favorite. Your videos are so informative, i never heard of the" seven sisters ". The scenery is so beautiful, i have only been as far a Banff from NS. The 3km hike must have been so nice,i would have been so nervous of 🐻. A van tour would be nice, but enjoy your time back home. Thanks again for taking us on your journey. And to those complaining about the smoke from NS ,think about the people who are going through this nightmare please,imagine the smoke they are breathing in❤ . You are lucky theres no flames with the smoke❤

Just catching up on what I’ve missed over the past few weeks! Thank you so much for the kind words Ellie. The bears were amazing! Hola👋 from New Mexico 🌶️...What another fantastic vlog and I love your choice of music 🎵. Those baby cubs are so cute. I had a blue Teddy when I was so little and my Mom wanted to give it to some little child and she showed me a new white Teddy but I wouldn't give up my blue Teddy (we went through so much together) so I told to give the white teddy to him. That was a good turn around. No worries and no problem. It has been an epic adventure and so beautiful 🤗Wow The drone footage. And the forest sounds.😊 Awesomeness... Yummy that looks 😋 delicious. Thanks for sharing. 💖🤗

I'm so glad your mum let you keep the blue teddy! I had a teddy with multicoloured paws which I called Patch and I would have been heartbroken if my mum gave him away. I still think we have a bag of my old teddies in the loft 😂 Sending love to NM from Canada xx 💕

Watching this video took me back to the first time I visited BC and saw my first glacier. The bear glacier. I was there with two of my best friends from collage. That was in 1990. We flew from Nova Scotia and meet our friend that was teaching in Burns lake. We had a wonderful adventure as we drove home to Nova Scotia. Almost in tears as I enjoyed you wonderful videos . Thanks for the memories.

I can’t tell you how much I’m enjoying your trips. I feel like an old gawker watching and wishing I was a lot younger and doing the trip myself. I use to live in BC and thought I’d seen a lot but nothing compared to you guys. As a proud Canadian I made it a point to see as much of Canada before travelling to other countries. Since then I’ve travelled 80% of the US, Venezuela, the Dominican, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, a year in South Korea and drove back and forth across Canada a good 7-8 times. I admire your determination and courage and am admittedly jealous. Continued safe travels.

Other YT's have found it hard to enjoy personal time with family/friend events plus trying to keep things going with their channel. Firstly, The sweet spot is SEEING the bear without MEETING the bear. I can’t fit into one comment how I feel about BC specifically the coast, the rainforests,the supermodel mountains, the wildlife. If heaven exists and ends up being a choose yer own adventure deal I’d choose the Pacific Northwest with it’s forests tumbling into the sea to live in for all eternity. That orzo and fish looked delish and is going to be on our menu in Ontario tonight. Might I suggest an OS cookbook🤭 Have a great week! X

You 4 never cease to make me smile every Sunday. I think now you may understand why folks that have never seen a bigfoot can believe they exist. Most people can't comprehend how vast the wilderness is in the rockies until they have been there. When you see an 800 pound moose walk 25 feet in too the woods and virtually disappear in front of your eyes and then you realize the Rocky mountain wilderness is more than a million square miles, you would have to be one hell of a skeptic to not acknowledge that a large shy hominid could at least POSSIBLY inhabit such a place without us knowing. I won't believe it until I see one, but I have seen the wilds of the rockies, and well, I think it could be. Anyways, thanks again for breathtaking views and the smiles. Cheers!
@OverlandingSophia Жыл бұрын
Ben and I were saying this exact thing the other day! We don’t especially believe in Bigfoot but when you see the depth of the forest up here, and that’s just what we can see from the road, swathes of it will never have seen humans. Not even indigenous tracks go through half of it. We have some friends who are pilots, used to do search and rescue up in the Yukon. Had an incident where a plane disappeared from radar, they spent weeks searching with the US side and the forest had swallowed it whole, never saw it again. And that’s not the first time that’s happened either. There could be anything out there 😳 👻

Hi Guys, alarming scenes at the start, 😮 Alvin the chipmunk 🐿️ must of enjoyed his ride.. it’s a weird feeling having run out of everything, ah the bears 🐻 were so nice and not even too worried about your presence either.. $300 for a weeks food, that’s insane. Yes I agree, most scenic fuel ⛽️ station. The mountain ⛰️ views are amazing along the gravel roads. What are the chances of seeing another Uk 🇬🇧 van on the same road… 👌. This viewpoint has a great look, I could get a cup of tea and sit there for ages! The bear mountain drone footage is spectacular! European driving doesn’t seem so far given what you have driven there in Alaska and Canada. The 3 km hike certainly had a good view to reward you! Love the forest sounds.. (incoming pun) ‘I’ve cinnamon walking across the street’. Looks tasty though! Nothing like a deep clean to make you feel better! Lovely wolf card! Shoved cupboards 😂.. I really do love the way you have the Van now, I want mine like that when I get one! You make the nice to look at meals Chesca, really nice to be able to cook! Thanks for sharing as always! X

Haha thankfully Alvin decided he didn’t want to hitchhike anymore. Unlike that pack rat in Mexico that wouldn’t shift! I know the food up here was so expensive. @Overlanding Sophia I usually don't use snow shoes cuz the trails are so packed down . The ones lesser used a person needs them or skies ... I have snow shoes hike a ton in winter and hardly ever use them . Sometimes us Canadians don't realize to tell you these things before hand and now see why you didn't. The pass just after the glaciers towards Jasper coming from Lake loise is one of the easiest hikes to reach the tippy top of the mountain and see tippy tops for miles or km what ever you prefer. Fantastic video again thank you! Love the way you've gone from pack rat to chipmunk to bear cubs! Your problems reminded me of driving back from Burgundy with no electrics - bottles of water, a torch moved round the van on strategic hooks, luckily the gas was ok, but couldn't fire up the fridge ... but it's all manageable, my parents used to caravan with just a foot pump for water and a calor gas lantern for light, we're lucky when we can use our mod cons! I travel now with a single burner camp stove & some gas canisters in reserve, not just to save lpg (not normally necessary) but also I have quite a big cooker top with a cover & putting the camp stove on top saves worktop space if I just need to boil a kettle. Not very regulated tho I have exploded poached eggs before now much to the dogs' delight! Are River & Scout staying with friends while you fly back? Yes please to a revised van tour! Love your Sunday videos.❤ My family and I have road tripped from Vancouver Island to PEI so many adventures through our home country. When you encounter an area of beauty in nature with no other person in sight, it's wonderful for the soul. The beauty, sounds of nature it offers such peace. Then, back to civilization and traffic ;) My hubbie and I would love to do an American amd European road trip some day. This world is filled woth such wonders. Thank you for sharing your adventures :)

Love this so much! It’s so true. It’s really hard to describe the feeling of driving through wilderness like that until you’re there. It’s a feeling, for sure. European road trips are so much fun! So many different cultures and landscape and history in a relatively small area ✨🧡

So glad to see you up in our neck of the woods! Too bad you didn't go to the coast on highway 16m, it is also a beautiful drive. It looks like you went into Old Hazelton if I think of the right narrow metal bridge. I was thinking I might even see your van on the highway, since I was heading south around the same time. Love the cinematography and easy ways of travelling. Cheers.

Just catching up on some messages I’ve missed over the last few weeks! You’re right, we were in New Hazleton! We would have LOVED to go to the coast but it just added too much time for us. That and Vancouver Island are our reasons to return! Already can’t wait ✨🫶

Yet another fabulous vid. Sorry about the torrential rain you had - but that’s why it so freakin’ green here! Re your food provisioning, when you are ready to leave Vancouver, I would be happy to let you use our Costco membership to stock up on whatever you need. Looking forward to see where you get to by next Sunday and hope you see some more Teddy Bears.
@OverlandingSophia Жыл бұрын
We don’t mind the rain, makes us feel at home 😂 And yep, it’s lush and green here for a reason! That’s so kind of you, thank you. Although we don’t have too much room in the van for a Costco size shop, as much as we’d love to 😅🧡

So many cool things on this episode. meeting Bea and Theo, the bears(too cute) and glaciers. When you were cleaning I eyed the box of corn flakes which I just bought so I can make the peanut/corn flake tofu burger. Glad to see Hyder and I will try and get there when the salmon are running so I can see the bears feeding. I will be heading to the UK in July as well, I'll be leaving from my cousins place, leave the van with them and fly out of Ok. I get to attend The Open golf championship. My mom would have loved to go, she so loved watching the game of golf. Hope your continued travels to Vancouver are going well. Oh, and Ben, how was the rockfish? Loved the song Chesca.😄

We're doing the tofu burger tonight again! Let us know how it goes 😋 It must be amazing to see the bears there. Hope you have fun at the golf! Crazy that we'll both be in the UK at the same time 🥰 Sending love from all of us xx 💕

Just came across your channel, really enjoying it! What an amazing adventure, And at the end of this video, while you are at the picnic table, it felt so familiar! I thought no way you’d actually be 5 minutes away from my family home where my parents still live on Sunset Lake in Topley B.C!! So cool, I’ve been across the country in Ontario for 23 years, but thank you for bringing me back in this episode!! Safe travels! 😊
@OverlandingSophia Жыл бұрын
No way!!! Can’t believe that! It’s such a small town, the fact you’ve stumbled across the channel and it’s where you grew up is madness! Sunset lake was soo beautiful, it got a little busy at the weekend though so we made it down to Co-Op Lake where it was a little quieter 🙈 Thanks so much for letting us know 🧡✨

Hi Guys, good to see you are out of the cold and enjoying decent temperatures as well. The downturn is that the mozzies are welcoming you as well, there was a big one in the closing shot. Even your last 3 months have been an 'live changing' experience, I am sure that you will enjoy the luxurious life back in the UK, showers every day, a toilet that flushes, etc etc. Enjoy, recharge the batteries and then up to the next leg of your trip! I am sooo Jealous😁. If you find the time, a van tour would be wonderful! last but not least, I pointed it out earlier but there is a small particle on the lens or inside the lens, more or less in the middle, I watching this on a 27 inch computer screen and it does show, if you want I can look back and let you know when it is obvious? It is not a biggie, just letting you know, because I care.
@OverlandingSophia Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Arjen, yep the mozzies are out in force! Thankfully we are prepared this time, unlike when we arrived in Nova Scotia. I still have scars from those bites 😳 Might see if we can squeeze a van tour in somewhere. Feel like the break is really the end of this first Canada/Alaska leg. After we come back, it's back into the States and onwards to Mexico! And thank you for the comment on the dust. I have a lens and sensor cleaner that I use every day to get the worst of it out but I think it needs a professional deep clean. Cameras and dusty roads don't mix well 😂 💛

I'm too old now but This was some of my favorite territory when I was traveling. I've been up and down the Cassier Hwy a half dozen times and along the Alaska Hwy three times in each direction. I'm glad you liked it as much as I did. Later in the summer, Hyder is one of the most reliable places to see brown and black bears on the Alaska Road system. I'm enjoying your travels and will look forward to your return.

That vista at the top of the hike!!! 😱😱🤯🤯 The forest sounds interlude was lovely with headphones. Very interested in a van tour, but even moreso hearing your thoughts on what's working & how you might improve what isn't. First the "Guacamole Song" and now "Banana For The Road." Does Chesca have any plans to release an album in the future? 😁 ❤️❤️😎👍xx

I’d enjoy a van tour, I’m amazed at how you live and travel in such a tight space. Ah yes and the vast Canadian forest, I own land, I cut and harvest trees and have a sawmill I don’t have too big a plot compared to the entire forest it’s crazy. It’s so peaceful and relaxing to hear the sounds in the spring, one of the biggest stress relievers out there. BC is beautiful. Safe travels.

What an amazing adventure you four are on. I always think about how Scout's life changed when he adopted the 3 of you. ❤ Just got back from a trip to the BC Caribou for a family reunion and I have to admit I was looking for your van heading south. lol I know by the time you edit you are ahead of the locations you show on the videos though. A new van tour would definitely be welcomed. I love van tours and I love how people find ways to organise them.
