Shintaro is probably one of the strongest people in any room he's in but doesn't look like a vain chem-addict. I wish the US would institute judo in Physical Education

That’s the grappling strength man. I know people who rarely ever weight lift and they’re so strong from grappling almost daily.

@@kaiceecrane3884 yeah lol. And they get really strong from it because they learn how to control, throw, move, and pickup weight that is resisting.

So you know people who grapple almost daily but don't do strength training on a regular basis. When I did Judo, a 90 minute session involved at least 30 minutes of pure strength and endurance training.
@romanroman33312 жыл бұрын
@@Diogenes2077 I have a judo coach who is older and he likes to focus a period of the class on strength and conditioning focusing on calisthenics and lifting, pulling, or dragging teammates for resistance. But, like I said I do know people who rarely ever lift weights and have that monkey strength from just grappling.

So whats the best counter in a general grappling setting? Also yes on more no gi stuff!
@AdamsAndCompan2 жыл бұрын
I am very interested in more no gi stuff. I watch this so I know how judo players think when I fight them because I don't know judo so seeing how judoka grapple without a gi is very much something I will watch.

As an judoka and MMA coach, yes more nogi. It's important that people see how well transitioning from judo to MMA is.

I am engaged in freestyle wrestling and did this trick on instinct, without studying, it does not always work if the opponent has slightly bent knees and thus can resist the flight

then you can try turning in and turn it into a brutal o soto gari.

hit this a couple times in mma sparring. Deffo not something you wanna rely on working 100% of the time but when your in a pinch it can work really well particularly if the opponent is tired and you hit it straight away when hes mid movement. I wouldnt even say its that risky because the guy has already got your back so your position wont get any worse really if it doesnt work. If it does work however it completely changes the dynamic of the fight and the guy who took your back used up all of that energy just to end up on bottom.

There's no counter to duck under. The only thing you can do is dominating the handfight that leads to duck under. Don't let him get the inside ties. Break it then attack. Don't wait untill he yanks your arms up and down to start duck under.

There is a very specific technique to this which is TAWARA GEISHI , if you wanna counter with grappeling you can use JUJI GATAME , you can use a sutemi waza technique like SUME GEISHI , and a lot of other techniques and variations
