The reason Tywin said 'be careful' to Arya's question if he knew many stone masons is because it was meant as a dig, and it was obvious to Tywin. Arya was implying as a wealthy lord he didn't have any connection with common folk, so how would he know what they were capable of?

The reason Tywin made that comment about a literate stone mason, is that the ability to ready and write was not needed for common people to do their work so a lot of them could not. It was his way of saying that Arya's backstory was already shaky.

I really like Arya and Tywin scenes, I think Tywin would be so happy if she is a Lannister. He would love his grandchildren to be smart, that's why he keeps Arya close and enjoys talking to her even though he knew that she's no low born girl like she said.

The "simple question" by Arya to Tywin was nearly a big slip as it was a quick witted response and insulting to Tywin as he was to high up the food chain to even know/talk to a stonemason putting him in verbal check. Tywin immediately recognises the simple question for what it really was and warns her before ending their verbal spar.

Tywin talking about Jaime's reading impairment (we'd call it dyslexia today) is one of my favorite educational moments in GoT. I'm also a fan of Stanis's quiet interjections of the word "fewer" when someone around him uses "less" incorrectly. 😆
@M._R.
@M._R. Жыл бұрын
A few thoughts on the episode: I'm fairly certain, even though Tywin really likes Arya, that he didn't give her his food out of good nature. He was too suspicious because of the attempted murder on "him" that someone might try to poison him. The moment between Tyrion and Cersei, which you found weird, I think was meant to show that even when they feel connected on something for once, they can't express it. With "normal" siblings, you would probably expect a comforting hand on the shoulder or a hug in such a situation, but the two are too emotionally distant from each other for that. The woman talking to Jorah Mormont, who doesn't reveal herself, has already mentioned who she is. Last episode, or the episode before that. I'm not sure. You guys probably just don't know what to do with her answer. I'm excited to see when you guys figure it out. :) Keep up the good work! I really like your reaction to GoT so far :)

I'd forgotten how much of a trip Jamie was in this episode. He's got the "gift of the garb", just like Tyrion. I think his motivation for talking so much was he would rather die than remain in captivity. He was really pushing it with Catelyn, for that purpose.

9:53 The reason why Lord Tywin said “Be careful girl” was because Arya was being a smartass. Lord Tywin was implying that Arya’s father might not have been a stonemason due to the amount of knowledge she has. However, Arya was asking him if he has met many stonemasons because she knows that highborns would not waste their time on talking to lowborns.

This is such a great Cersei episode, it really gives her such depth as a character, how basically everything she does at this point is for her children, flawed or not. Sheds more light on how upset she was that her daughter was sent away for marriage. She clings to power because she knows well what will happen to her children if their rule gets overthrown, they’ll be butchered. I do think overall Cersei is the best character of the series (except maybe her dad).

Reason why 27:45 was so "weird" is becuse Cersie literally hates Tyrion her whole life and never connected to him at any level,but then she finds herself crying in front of him and she feels shame like shes not so strong like she pretends to be,things matter to her too,and Tyrion was for sure way more uncomfortable becuse he never seen her like this or spoke to her like that...
