Great to see you back and as always love the content. As an insurance lawyer of 14 years, I must say some of the insurance points raised aren’t quite right. Some key bits; - protected no claims doesn’t protect premium increase. It protects a discount on the base premium; which can (and usually will) go up in the event of a claim. - anyone can claim from the motor insurers bureau (MIB) pot in the event of an uninsured or untraced driver for injury; and anyone driving legally can claim for damage. It doesn’t matter if you’re third party, fully comp have all the extras or not. A claim via the MIB is separate from your own insurance.

Conserns me about trader policy I know someone who buys and sells 4 or 5 car's a year so doesn't have a garage so how long can he have a car before it should besold

Did the same but in reverse... Lincoln was ~£350/yr for my Golf R MK7.5, then that skyrocketed in London to £2k/yr. Mental! Heading back up north again, hoping for that to drop hahah

I live in bradford. What piss me off the most is cars which drive down wrong side of road or on pavement overtaking traffic or in the lane to turn left or right then drive straight on cutting up all traffic...

I got full insurance on my car, even if i don't drive much. Electric scooters are suppose to be insured now, but majority don't have it. They seem to rather pay the full payment for any accident they end up in.

Must be at least 10years ago, in Dewsbury town centre in the middle of precinct as an advertisement there was a Lamborghini Gallardo which West Yorkshire had ceased for no insurance, obviously it had stickers etc saying this car etc was taken as someone thought it's acceptable to drive with no insurance.

I live in a country with out mandatory insurance, the only time a car is required to be insured is if its financed. And not by the govt its required by the bank, i spend way more on insurance than should be necessary, but if im in an accident regardless of whos fault it is, the next morning a rental gets delivered to me. And my car gets fixed. I know some people who skimp on insurance and in the time it took me to replace a car that was written off, and they finish paying off the financing (about 3 years) one of my friends managed to save up enough money to pay to get his car repaired after his cheap insurance decided to not pick up the bill.

I have a trade policy (genuinely do) not like the blaggers 🤣. Some officers are fine with it. Some want to take the car regardless of proof or the fact that i dont need to add it to mid for 14 days. Or if im moving something to a place of repair or customers car. Im legal but still get agro 🤷‍♂️

It's shocking that in America people can be seriously under-insured, so they have what's classed as legal but might only be worth $5000, so they crash into a $50,000 car and the innocent owner literally has no choice but to claim on their own policy as if the other car has no insurance at all. I know you discussed traders policies, but what about misuse of trade plates, and also, fake trade plates?

Ben, if you goto a garage and wish to test drive a car which obviously will not be insured, and the garage slaps a traders plate in the back window and says off you go. Is the person driving said vehicle covered and under any risk should they be in a collision or pulled by the roads policing teams?

Hi Ben! I wanted to ask and have an opinion if I did the right thing or could I have done any thing else. I parked my car up on a hill to visit a family member. As I was approaching the front I noticed my car was rolling back. I tried to stop the car but it was very slippery with ice and I have an injured knee. Sadly my car hit a parked car but thankfully there was no one in it. I manage to locate the owner of the car and knocked on their door but got no response and left a note with my details to contact me and to resolve it. We resolved it without insurance. Just wondering if I could have done anything different or missed on anything.

I was in a hit and run recently and the other car wasn’t insured, I’m with admiral and they are going to pay out but want to right my car off 🤦🏼‍♀️ so frustrating as I now have to pay out my excess and pay the higher premium next year, and deal with now trying to buy a new car!

Yeah, especially as the insurance market is unbridled, and compared to Continental Europe, premium inflation is in double digits. I'm currently paying £640/year on my Nissan Leaf, which is a massive increase compared to the £340/year I've been paying previously. To make matters worse, I've had one non-fault accident in my old car caused by someone in a Peugeot hitting his brakes too late as I was pulling over to let an ambulance on blues negotiate the apex of a bend on my side due to it being high-sided (higher rollover risk). The socioeconomic factor of Brexit and a dearth of mechanics especially EV trained isn't helping matters. Though at least I'm in a postcode that isn't a magnet for high premiums.

They insure their car + driver + home address combination, which is insane. That's a pure legalised racketerring business. Insuring just the car would have been so much cheaper!
