Alright so I've been making this bread EVERY SINGLE DAY and I love it! I do a few things different and wanted to share what I do.First off I don't own a Dutch oven and all my heavy pans are shallow cast iron... so what I did was break out my slow cooker! I use the bowl from the slow cooker covered in foil in place of a Dutch oven and it has worked perfectly. So if anyone wants to try this but doesn't have the right cookware you can give that a shot. Also since I had the slow cooker out already I decided to play around with it and found that this recipe in the slow cooker for 2 hours on high cooks it perfectly. It's not browned on the top but I take it and broil it for about 1 minute after it's cooked to get that golden brown crunch on top. Worth trying if you're in a pinch with a broken oven or something.... Anyways thank you so much for this recipe it's the best best best!!

@@zuhalsharif1554 Bread flour is flour with fairly high protein content, like 12-13%. You can well use so called all purpose flour. No cake flour.

cast iron dutch ovens are usually cheaper than the coated ones. just need to be seasoned once or twice a year. mine is a 7 quart which will easily handle a family size boule

Baked half a batch just now using a lidless thin stainless steel loaf tin in a steam oven, steam on for the first 30 mins and off for the last 25 (an OCD thing, insisted that internal temp reach 96C, so added the last 10 mins). The sides and the bottom were a bit less crispy than the top, but overall it turned out great. Ate half the loaf with green curry and will be toasting the rest tomorrow morning.

Hi Laura! That looks so good. OMG, I grew up in South Philly and bread was all over the place, plus we had several bakeries. My mom (RIP) loved making bread and most Saturday's she had something brewing atop the fridge (warm spot for bread to rise). Her favorite was potato bread and sweet rolls (oh the house would smell amazing). I personally was never a lover of bread until I got a bread machine, now I make bread twice a week (for my guys) and we love it! I also use my bread machine to mix my ingredients then bake off in the oven (especially when I'm doing challah or baguettes, etc.). I've been looking for a no knead recipe and just found it. Thank you gorgeous ;o) Love your eye makeup!

I have two loaves rising as I type. I know that is a winner for sure!! Tastey..crunchy crust... perfect for toast , or tear in to it while its hot-- You know what we like...:) I have tried it in both a cast iron pan and the dutch oven like yours. I even saw someone bake it in a corning wear casserole. But so far the enamel coated pot like yours is the best method. I only mention it because some folks don't have exactly the same arsenal of pots like we do.

I watched this video some time ago and finally decided to try the recipe. I put it in the microwave to rise overnight and baked it this morning per Laura instructions. I let cool for about 15 minutes because I couldn't wait to cut into it. It is delicious. I tried it without anything on it, then I tried it with olive oil and then an oregano dipping sauce; and, also tried it with Nutella. It is delicious. I have a question though, once you take the risen dough out of the microwave, is the dough supposed to smell a little sour? Thank you Laura! ❤️
