Many years ago a beautiful young flight attendant with Eastern Airlines was furloughed and, because of that, I met her. We have been so happily married for 44 years. She is now an American Airlines F/A. Our hearts are with you, Sydney, and all who love this work and are faced with challenges, not of their making.

Retired AA here - Back in the day, I finished probation with my airline and was furloughed one day later for about a year. Long story short, when I returned things were so much better and I had a long career, went through many mergers, and ended up with lifetime travel benefits on AA! Hang in there.

You NEVER have to apologize for being sad. As someone who had to take took two years off school for various reasons, the most annoying thing was people telling me "you're so young what's the rush" and "enjoy the time off" and "just think what you will learn from the experience". Sometimes, you just want to kick those people in the face. You're allowed to be upset. I always appreciate feeling like I can relate to someone rather than watching someone having a great time and feeling even worse . Pretending things are okay when they are not is terrible for everyone. Many hugs.

Hang in there Kacey. You don't need to apologize for being a little down, we ALL get that way sometimes. I will be praying for you my sweet fellow Kentuckian. God has brought you this far and WILL NOT EVER leave you alone. Like my 85 year old mom has always said, "Tough times don't last, tough people do"! Kacey...you are loved and lots of people here on your channel care for you. Great job as always on this episode. GO BIG BLUE!!!!!!!

Kacey, don't sweat it. Like everyone says, just enjoy the time off IF it happens. Until then, its out of your hands & just continue doing what you do. The airlines always bounce back, esp. American being the largest. And greatest! I've had a FF account with them since the late 80's & never regretted it. But whatever you do, please eat. Once you stop eating, weight drops & your health pretty much with it. Chat with your family, go have a quick visit, whatever it is that makes you happy. A good run or bike ride always did wonders for me!

Your video almost made me cry . I feel so bad I can tell you truly love your job !!!! ❤️ I hope things get better . But if they don’t always try to see things from the positive side that always works for me!! I was so sad that my training with American was cancelled I was supposed to attend training this past June. However I am now taking the time to get my BA in the meantime!!! Take this time to do something you’ve always wanted to do but your job couldn’t allow it !!! ❤️💙

Keep your spirits up. I know it's hard but as a 2 million-mile flyer with Delta my whole morning was ruined this morning by a gate agent that was treating some pre boards very poorly. Just watching her treat people badly affected me . SO when you are greeting people as they come on the plane believe me they appreciate it. A lot of people that are flying right now are scared or apprehensive so the first face they see even if it's mostly covered by a mask still matters. Thanks so much for your vlogs and keep the smiles and good attitude coming

Hi Kacey, Thanks for sharing your adventures, you are completely correct about the schedule being Turns only, the airlines have figured that with such a reduction in flights, it is easier to bring everyone and the planes back to the hubs and now not only are they not paying their employees per diem, they are paying for hotel rooms, van service and any other costs that are incurred, such has paying the remote airports to park planes overnight, it has kind of switched where the first flights of the day start at the hubs instead of the remote airports. As a father of at 25 & 28 year olds, I found you comments about your parents not knowing what you are going through with the prospect of furloughs at work, then talking to other flight attendants that are more experienced and most likely in your parents age range and hearing the same things from them and believing what they have to say hitting very close to home. My sons are finally coming to the point where they are starting to realize that when I tell them something, it is with their best interest in mind. No parent knowingly tells their children something that is wrong. I am not saying that parents are always right, but they are always a good sounding board for helping you get through whatever life throws at you. Younger people can always learn from older people, because most likely they have been through something similar at some point in their life’s. Ken

It would be hard for me to alway keep a smile on when your actually having some crummy days. I went through the 2007-08 recession and 9/11 it wasn't always the best time in my career I stayed based in Ny and after 9/11 it was really nice to have pleasant and thoughtful passengers out of Ny. I did have one roommate that got furloughed, but it was actually perfect for her because she ended up having Thanksgiving, Christmas and New years off then she came back in Feb. at her seniority there would have been no way she would of held any of those holidays off. We know that you are a genuinely nice person, it shows in all of your vlogs. You never know what the future holds, it could end up being a nice break by not seeing a sad situation on a daily basis.

I know I haven’t started yet but I’m waiting for training and the furlough notices are concerning. My faith in the Lord has really kept me afloat in this turbulent season, He is so so good and faithful and He has a beautiful and perfect plan!! My aunt is a flight attendant who is like 25 years senior and she was furloughed after 9/11 and she got called back because they needed her. She constantly encourages me during this wait and especially right now and I hope that this is encouraging to you too!

This too shall pass- It’s OK be happy all the time we all have different waves of our emotions that come over us for periods of time. It’s also what makes when you feel happy even better! Keep making great videos and whatever you do in your day to day. We will keep watching! Stay strong, stay safe!
