I relate to each and every point you have mentioned. After years of painting, it is only now that I have started to paint joyfully. I realise no painting works if there is no joy in it. Sometimes, my friends tell - please make me this type of painting, with a cow in it or two butterflies, etc, etc. I am so busy bending my mind, I end up totally messed up. - is tis what they wanted? Or is iit something else, haha. Now I paint, and put it out there. And it's all thanks to the confidence I gain from being in your group. Thankyou so much for the video.

Trying to make a painting look generous is a rich hint for loosen up your mind while painting. As a life coach dealing enough with limiting beliefs and so on i can say that your reflections on mental backgrounds are as "hitting" as your practical tips. Compliments, Jochen

Sometimes people suggest what you should paint but your heart is not in it and I've learnt never to start such a painting. One needs the right balance of challenge, creativity and fun during painting moments. Your tutorials really empathize with us and the tips are always beneficial for our improvement. Thank you

I need to chew on this information for a LONG time until it happens automatically each time I start and find my way through a painting. As always, you are a generous and good encourager and teacher.

My problem is that I get to a point that I think “yes it’s finished..but let me just fix that one little spot “ then when I touch it it gets totally ruined and throws the whole balance off.. then I have to spend more time balancing it out again 😅… I never learn! I think I might just have to refrain from making final touches. But I like your advice.. thank you 😊

I do need to use a lighter touch, lighter on me, and one when I touch the canvas. You mention speeding up. Unfortunately, my problem is that I get in a hurry and don't think about what I am doing, which you mention earlier in the video. Every part of this video was something I need to rethink. Thanks for all your wisdom over my painting journey.

Great points Malcolm! I get too wrapped up in the details of my painting and find myself worrying about failing instead of painting for myself for fun!

So many good tips that I seem to completely forget about when I start a painting. I can see I need more "mental" prep before I just dive in so that it can be joyful. Thank you for this video!
