Gday Woody. As a mechanic that has done one of these conversions. The high mount kit from marks adapters is the go. Rh high mount for the factory alternator. And bin the factory delphi ac compressor for a sanden 7h14 ac compressor. Mounted on the lh side. Makes electrics easier as the fuse box it rh side. And ac plumbing is lh side.

As an American, I really wish we had more access to a Supercheap Auto. That windscreen juice would be nice but a few hammers from there would be even better. American hammers are so much bang, not enough squeak. You're doing well Woody,.
@solomonould55387 ай бұрын
as an Australian who lived in america for 4 years i can say that your not missing anything mate, ide give up supercheap auto in a heartbeat for access to napa and harbour frieght (which is pretty much the same quality as supercheap), if you go to supercheap and ask for a water pump you would be super lucky to get it in 3 days maybe a week, when i was in the states NAPA would have everything by lunchtime haha :P If you want a supercheap hammer just for the lolz i can send you one haha
@zyeborm6 ай бұрын
@@solomonould5538you don't go to super cheap for parts mate it's for stuff around the car. Go to a real supplier for parts, bursons, Repco, Autobarn if you're desperate for something common etc.

In my LS 80 series, high mounting the ac compressor and alternator is the only way to go for space and also for longevity from mud and water. Tell Dave to carry a couple of spare idler pulleys as no matter what brand they don’t like mud and water repeatedly. With wiring get Al to do it if possible as there’s a guy around up there that I used I which I would not recommend to anyone

Woody is that a ati balancer install / removal kit? It would be awsome if you did a small vid on that. Apparently the ati balancers are tolerance fit and need to be heated up prior to install and sometimes even honing is required as well as the ati install kit. Especially jz seem to be notorious for this. A quick vid on this topic would be awsome man!
@theskidfactory7 ай бұрын
Forgot which brand it is but just a balancer removal / installation tool, I just welded the old crank bolt to the end of the thread. Some Aftermarket balancers require honing before fitment. Im not a fan of heating a balancer though, I feel it would potentially ruin the bonding
@Godzillajz7 ай бұрын
@theskidfactory ok cool. doesn't an ati balancer have a removable hub? So you only heat up the hub not the bonded part.

Idk if it is true or not, but heard the canyon/Colorado accessory setup are very narrow and up high because the engine bays are narrow in those trucks for the V8 version (old body, not new ones that are out now) because they were mainly all inline engines.
