You can use a hand masher. They won't be as fluffy but they will still taste amazing!!

You said you were following Dr Mcdougall so I wasted time watching your video to see how you do potatoes without salt....because he says no salt...so you wasted my time. All you left out was butter and you used a milk substitute. I could do that much

First of all Dr. Mcdougall does not say no salt, he says sprinkle it on after your food is cooked . Read chapter 12 in his book The Starch Solution and you will find it all in there, Also on page 199. You should really have your facts straight before commenting.. Also I put all my ingredients for my recipes in the description box, so if you would have looked there first you would have seen that I used salt. So sorry you wasted those 7 minutes of your life.
