When I make garlic mashed potatoes I roast my garlic in the oven and squeeze out the soft golden cloves into the potatoes and then mash them. It has much better flavor than just putting raw garlic through a garlic press.

Roasting the garlic cuts that sharp bite you get with it being raw, while giving it a silky mild deep nutty flavor that seamlessly blends into the soft potatoes. Yeah, its better.

My Great Grandpa was raised by a family who took in orphaned children during the Great Depression... they drank potato water as a treat!
@butterflylove26425 жыл бұрын
Carson Kramer How very interesting; thnx for sharing that. My parents were depression era children. Very very hard times endured by so many. Later on as a child, I remember when any of us 3 kids were recovering from a stomach bug, we’d be served potato water. It was warm, mild, and soothing to the tummy; it really helped us to recover & gain our strength back. Dad also put potato water in his homemade bread dough instead of plain water...added moisture to the finished bread. 🥔

Happy Thanksgiving to you both! I love no salt veggie broth in my mashed potatoes. Also, I love leftover mashed potatoes too. - I heat my panini maker to high and throw a softball size amt on it when hot, no oil, and close it and let it cook about 12-15 min while I put on my make up in the morning. When done, I open them and they have formed a beautiful crust on the top and bottom. That’s my breakfast frizzed with hot sauce over them and some greens. Best breakfast!!

I've had the same problem. I'm 5'2" on a good day and have struggled with leverage on counter tops and when I worked as a CMA. The exam tables were to high for me. The pediatrician I worked for didn't understand why I had difficulty pinning the kids down to give shots. He came in the room one day, squated down to my height, and tried to do it. Bingo, I stood on a stool from then on. What a wonderful person to work for. I use my kitchenaid with the whip. They always turn out light and fluffy.

Jane, 3 weeks ago I found a lump in my left breast and was immediately diagnosed with a fast growing rare cancer. I've had my port put in and my sentinel node biopsy and I start chemo on Tuesday. My doctors and treatment team are wonderful but no one can answer my questions about how to eat vegan during chemo. Do you have a resource that you could pass on to me for the right way to eat during chemo? I'm 67 years old, fair complexion, fair hair and in otherwise good health with a touch of arthritis. I have been vegan almost 3 years with great results and I am so happy with my choice for me, the animals and the planet. I am a retired surgical scrub nurse and do not have the funds to buy a book on this topic. Please can you help me? I'm so scared of the chemo and I want to stay true to my lifestyle choice of eating plant-based. Thank you so much!
