I have the same watch, I got it a year ago with a white dial. Wow, what a timepiece. Keeps the time better than many of my Swiss watches, but the time will tell how good it is.

I bought a Baltany with a Seagull movement, but I bought it knowing what problems might lie ahead. One of, if not the most knowledgeable watchsmiths on YT described servicing one as a 'nightmare'. There were a number of things that made it tricky, one of which was that the movement is held together by a plethora of odd sized screws, especially on the chronograph. To cut the chase, there is a majority of qualified watchsmiths in Europe who don't want to go near them for a variety of reasons, principally that as they are, in general, produced very cheaply. The upshot is that because watchsmiths give an implicit warranty when they service or repair a watch, they don't want to land in a position whereby they end up with Chinese movements being returned within the warranty period for something else that's gone wrong. As there is a shortage of watchsmiths at present, you can understand that they don't want to go looking for trouble when they've got easier jobs to do. Make of this what you will.

There are other Chinese watch companies with heritage. Shanghai Watch Factory is one such case. You can't talk about Chinese watches without considering Shanghai. They produce some really unique watches that you'd never see from a western brand. They're worth checking out if you haven't already!

I'm still waiting for hand wind version to drop price. For some reason it is couple times more than this one. I had white version and had issues with telling the time, silver hands got lost on white dial sometimes.

Black dial on my Weishi: 28sec., 245 degrees, 0.2 ms, 21600, 52 deg. For $68, I am fine with it.

There's no fool proof way to get a Sea-Gull watch other than going to China unfortunately, they just don't sell directly to the West, you're always going through middlemen otherwise.

Thanks for the review George, not my cup of tea that style. I have been looking at the Sea-Gull Ocean Star line and they have a signed crown - stylistic wings I think. For the time being not brave enough to punt $600+ AUD for a bit of an unknown 😄

In my opinion, the mesh bracelet will always be for gay people or a women. No serious man will use that type of bracelet, since the apple watch they made that for lgbt people.

At the end of the day you wear what you like. Brietling do a thick mesh for one of their divers which doesn't look like it's made for women so .. like I said you wear what you like!

I got mine recently and It did come with just the black stiff bracelet. At first you would think that NEVER is going to take the round form of your arm ! And at a first try that is true ! But with some patience and using day by day, the stiffness comes smaller and at the end I'm pretty sure that is going to be with more endurance and years of use
