I guess that is why I fail at doing anything creative like drawing. I am too much of a perfectionist. If something doesn't look good enough for me, I cannot continue because I feel it will be only mediocre at best. For example, if some lines look out of alignment, I would have the strong desire to re-do that piece.

it always bugs me because it's everywhere - people do it on makeup videos too and they're like "wow and I can't even do mascara". Like, yes, but that's because you didn't practice or build up a skill. Complimenting someone's art this way often dispels their hard work. It's always like "wow you have such talent and I can't even draw a stick figure". Like, it ignores the hours and hours of work. But that's just my opinion lol

I like how you talk about the emotions you go through during a painting. I have felt this fatigue and self doubt when working on a large project and wanting to give up, but then once it's finally done I start crying happy tears and feel an amazing rush. It's not often you can wow yourself, so when you do it's one of the most gratifying things you'll ever experience. It's always worth it in the end to push through and to hear you say that you have these same struggles inpire me to finish projects I have been neglecting. Thank you!! You are awesome

A while ago I was at a crossroads in my life, where I had to choose between studying art and pursuing that dream, or going into academics and studying science. I've always loved art, and I knew in my heart I could do it, but what I didn't know was how far I could get in academics. I decided to push myself to my limits, and I got into the University of Cambridge to study psychology. It's stressful, and it's taxing, but now I know I can do it. There's something very validating about that. But despite all of that, I still miss art. Watching videos like this is so inspiring to me, and it makes me think that one day I could come back to my dream. The key is to never stop dreaming, right?

Love your work!!! You're incredibly talented and fun! I am an artist and veteran art educator, moving into assisting muralists over past two years. I am being pushed to just jump in and make my own to build a portfolio. I excited and very scared- there are so so so many wicked talented muralists out there and there is NO way I can draw like you or Naomi. It seems that most muralists are illustrators, which I am not, I am first a sculptor and painter/abstract expressionism. I am going to try as I love the mural world and love the mural community, but breaking in NYC and region has been tough. Thanks for showing us your process and your humility makes you easy to imagine working with. Kindness and bringing in artists who really want to help and try is so important.

as an artist and tattoo designer, you will always see your work as subpar. all that matters is that no one else will see it as such because they will never see it through the eyes of the artist. Remember that your art brings inspiration. and that there is no right or wrong when creating something, it will always be valued by many.

Aunque mis dibujos son distintos y mis metas como muralista son diferentes a los tuyos, me encantó el sello que dejaste en tus murales, y esa charla grabada con la señora que dijo que no sabe dibujar.
