@@aaanders I've heard Jamaican sprinters, and other Caribbeans, are taught differently and focus more on technique as opposed to raw power which is the focus in the US. Everyone studied Asafa Powell heavily after broke and matched the world record like 5 times. Now you see Americans, Japanese, Europeans ect. come out the blocks doing his toe drag technique. Justin Gatlin, Christian Coleman, Trayvon Brommell, women like Mujinga Kumbundji and Aleia Hobbs to name a few, all do low-heel recovery that coaches learned by studying Asafa Powell. In 2008, before the Olympics, Japanese scientists literally MRI scanned him, put sensors on his body, and set up high speed cameras to view his starting technique. Coach Mills (Bolt's former coach) studied from Bud Winter when Bud held a coaches seminar in Jamaica in the 1960's. He learned from him then expanded on it with his own ideas. I have two of Winter's books (So You Want to Be a Sprinter, and Rocket Sprint Start) and Mills has a quote about Bud Winter in one of them. It's definitely the coaching, environment, and diet that make Jamaicans do well. I know you're alluding to drugs, but they're not getting better steroids than you can find in Europe or the US. Just Scotch Bonnet peppers and sea moss alone will do amazing things to the body as far as energy, recovery, and immune system are concerned. Learn something.

The young phenom has physically clearly been in the gym which is great, should be noted that his 30.69 at altitude in Pretoria when adjusted for sea level is roughly between 30.97 (Bolt) - 31.03 (WvN's 2nd fastest time) which is still incredible in just his 2nd ever 300m race!
