As a type I diabetic, I have, over time, stored up at least 1 year of insulin. I exaggerated my usage to the doctor and then refilled before it ran out. After several years of that I have well over a year saved up. For keeping it cold, I have a 12v mini fridge with multiple backup power sources, including a gas generator and solar panels. Those of us with a medical problem have two choices: embrace the fact that we'll be one of the first to die in the apocalypse, or work twice as hard as everybody else to prepare.

So many people have chronic medical conditions and don't even consider the potential of losing their medications. My children are still the reason I do much of what I do and they are grown adults now. When parents get desperate, and they will...yeah, that's just tragic on all levels. On a related note, there are services out there where you can get packs of antibiotics to prepare in advance. I just hope idiots don't misuse them since most don't understand the difference between antibiotics, antivirals, antifungals, and antihistamines...

I appreciate this series. I was tired of hearing from morons that threatened civil war without understanding the consequences. Food and fuel transport stops? That's gone. Have any savings or investments? That's gone. Know anyone that requires meds or monitoring? They're gone. Cell phones? Internet access? Video games? All that bs is gone or even more useless in civil unrest. Throw in the fact that half the population is dumber than average? They shouldn't romanticize this, they depend on us to live...
@petermanasco87342 ай бұрын
Without social contract, what is my obligation? Can they build shelter? Do they have alternate energy stored? Food, water, protection stored? The halfwits haven't thought this through and they never will. They simply need to hush and let the adults talk.

I agree, the problem with war is the moment war starts both sides will intentionally or accidently snuff out innocent lives. There is often a brutal cycle of one side does something bad and whoever see's that action becomes more brutal out of revenge and then that gets passed back and forth and both sides are doing horrific things. What many on the left and right don't consider enough is both sides are heavily armed with guns and it won't be an easy fight. I have no wish for a civil war because of the massive damage it will do to everyone. We have a ton of land I wish we would just split up into a couple country's and have peace.

The Meds thing an ever present reality in my home .My wife had a pituitary tumor was removed before it killed her . Unfortunately it had caused irreversible damage to a major organ .She had to have a transplant she won’t last long with out anti rejection medication. Best anyone can do a stockpile and realize when it runs out that person’s clock runs out that’s a heartbreaking reality but part of life and in those circumstances.

If society truly fails, the majority will not survive long term. It just isn’t possible to store enough food and water. The lack of necessary medicines will exacerbate the problem for those that are reliant on them, fortunately we are not affected by this. Knowing these facts, and based on us being decidedly senior citizens, I plan to try to protect what we have, and to prolong our lives as long possible, and as long as life remains worth living.

Amen to this video! I had a severe back injury in the late 90's & of course the doctor told me it's not addictive. Got another opinion & went with it(strength training, stretching, etc). We have been over-medicated for decades. I had my wisdom teeth removed at 43, but only took ibuprofen 600mg.

Allow me to expand on Dysentery for the benefit of your viewers... Dysentery can start as soon as 24 to 72 hours as soon as the water supply begins to stop flowing. One good example of fast acting dysentery is stagnant flood water. Obviously, public water supply will stop once the electricity is cut off. Following this, people will have to source water from questiinable sources. And likely, these water sources will not be treated with chemicals or purified. The result will be mass diarrhea. And those with poor health or exposed to climate extremes will literally defocate themselves into dehydration. The dehydration will induce many to ingest more tainted water. And the cycle will repeat itself. In the end, many will die. Expect the deaths from dysenterry /dehydration to cycle back and forth with cycles of looting /violence. Extra points if you were smart enough to understand that this will affect the very young and very old...as well as any people with health conditions / medical addictions. Hope that helps folks to understand a little better. Best of luck, Phil

This is such a hot button issue, impacting me as well. I have loved ones on meds, dependent upon the “system”. Looking at the comments below I’m guessing this will be (one of) if not (the) largest cause of conflict and death post SHTF. Trash? Burn it like the rest of the world…. I’m glad you make vids on these issues. Real world shit man…

If you want the most realistic portrayal of this scenario, read or listen to the the book One Second After. It puts it into a story that really hits home. The first time you read it you will be very concerned. The second time you read it you will take notes.

Regardless of how anyone feels about it or doesn't want it to be true- the single biggest factor that would prevent us from somewhat peacefully making through another "great depression" is the very thing we keep being forcefed- our supposed "greatest strength" DIVERSITY. We have no cohesion because so many of us share no long-term history, culture, religion, belief systems, language, etc.. Those things do matter. Racial and cultural diversity absolutely is not a strength. Any advantages it may ha e are far outweighed by problems it causes

Uncle Freedom this video is even more relevant than the first! While I have a background as a LEO, my core education and work experience is in Pathology (virology and bacteriology). In a post SHTF, we WILL face medieval disease and plague!! The majority of the population has zero knowledge of how to deal with waste (either human, day to day or long term sanitation! In major cities, the smell of death will permeate the air. Folks have no clue! Sadly, many folks(most elderly and those with suppressed immune systems) will perish. I’m of retirement age and by Gods Grace have great health! However, most of my tribe is medically dependent…. As always, excellent content! Keep it up!🙏👍🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️

Many medications are primarily for quality of life, meaning that without them, the person can survive in a somewhat limited capacity. However, a number of medications literally allow life to continue. For example, if someone is on Digoxin, they are on it for life. From the moment they stop taking it, they have maybe a few days before their heart stops functioning altogether.

LIKE # 286 for REALITY: for 15 years I've "watched" the prepper channels, fr my perspective as an 8th generation farmer. TnP/CP/etc; Profits. PURELY about profits. As farmers you are raised to think 18-36 months ahead of time per all things in crops, water, weeds, politics, paperwork, and being HEALTHY in ALL aspects. We are essentially modern amish, I brign that into many talks with others, and they make fun. We don't have cancer or stress, and we are happy. I left the LE career when Obama took our best aspects away, which WERE the best things for America. Will they return?
