Diabetes runs in my family and when it’s comes to soda it’s not the calories you need to worry about, it’s the SUGAR !!! in a 12 oz can of Coke has 33 grams of sugar. Measure 33 grams of sugar and it’ll blow your mind. If you don’t burn off the sugar it’ll turn into fat and if you don’t burn off the carbs they turn into sugar. I recently weighed myself and I was completely disgusted. I’m also anemic. I’m tired of being tired and not having enough energy. So far I’m down 18 lbs 🎉 but I still have a ways to goes. I weigh myself every morning and I set small goals every week. The older you get the easy it is to gain and so hard to lose. But if you’re determined, you can accomplish anything ❤

Thank you for sharing your experience and what you did. I recently determine to cut my sugar and just move more. You're the confirmation I needed...my doctor tried to recommend off label use of meds, but that's not sustainable and I don't want to add meds I don't need. So I appreciate you sharing what you did. Keep up the fight- you already have had a huge success so it sounds like you have the strength and grit to keep it up! For me the winters were always the hardest. For so many years I'd lose 20 then after the winter put back on 30. I think finding a gym that I didn't hate and wasn't embarrassed to go to was a huge benefit. I also enjoy playing pokemon when I'm on the treadmill or at the gym so that helped the time go by so much faster. If I can do it I know you can do it! 🙌🙌🙌

I have always been tall and thin, even during a twin pregnancy . Easy as hell ! Then , due to skiing , my knees were painful and needed surgeries . I gained 50 lbs easily , because it hurt to walk . Love this advice , walks,, no pop , don’t have ice cream in house ) and gym after surgery . I’m also anemic , due to strict vegetarian all my life, and now I’m back on a weight loss journey , that I never thought I’d deal with . My dr was key in all supplements , as no sun where I live, so VITD ,is low and makes one fatigued . Thanks for your advice & great channel ❤❤❤

It sounds like you are doing well on your journey! It is so hard to *not* gain weight when you have an injury and need major surgery like that. Terrible when it hurts to even walk so I understand. Then when it hurts to walk you probably sit more, then sitting more probably causes boredom which is a big cause for people like us to eat more than we should or would normally. I hope you continue to great on your journey to - and I hope someday you are able to ski again. 🙏

I have had Migraines since my teens also and take a Rx. Med for them. Thank goodness I don’t have them like I use to. I was hospitalized for 3days sev yrs ago as they could not get one under control. It’s was horrific. They concluded it was brought on by anesthesia and post op surgery. It’s great that you lost slowly as you will be able to keep it off easier that way. Thank you for sharing with us. 😊

Ahh this makes sense- the one benefit to cutting way back on carbonated drinks is my stomach feels so much better than it used to. I never thought I would grow to actually like drinking water but with a good brita filter on my faucet I don't mind drinking it at all anymore.

What’s so fascinating is that it looks like you got an upper blepharoplasty! That eyelid heaviness is gone. I struggle with that too and I never knew weight loss could “reverse” it. I do have about 15 lbs to lose (I’m 5’1) so I’m going to try and see if that makes a difference, because I was initially considering upper blepharoplasty.

We brought in a SDIL(Sugar Tax) in the uk ,charging manufacturers of soft drinks an additional X amount per litre of drink according to amount of sugar they add . Only the zero sugar/no added sugar drinks receive any prominence in the supermarket - the drinks with sugar are relegated to top shelves and dark corners 😊 Plus , in order to absorb the sugar tax , the drinks producers(especially Coke/Pepsi) had to raise the price of unhealthy stuff by nearly 80%,making people even less inclined to drink it. Stats so far suggest it’s cut sugar intake of kids by 50% and adults by a third - and that’s in only four years .

The creatine might bloat u for the first 2 weeks don't get scared it's normal it will stop once your body gets use to it and it gets into your muscles and fills them. Don't skip days on creatine make sure u take it daily. Definitely start lifting with it you don't even have to do free weights th machines can do everything you need and put you in the right positions and they are pretty self explainitory

Hi Sarah! I’m so happy for your success! I’m the same way, not keeping the tempting foods in the house but allowing myself to enjoy the chips at the occasional family party, or having a special treat on my birthday or a holiday. Not having sweets on the daily helps so much! The Ninja Creami keeps my husband and me on track, protein ice cream heck yes! Discipline is the key! I use apps called Happy Scale and Chronometer to keep me on track. As a figure competitor my weight fluctuates but yes weight training is so so good and fun once you get into it! 💜 some yummy protein powders are Animal Chocolate Brownie and Optimum Nutrition Vanilla (so many vanillas are chalky but this one is perfect). The unflavored stuff can be rough! There’s a recipe on KZbin for a protein brownie using the chocolate protein from Renee Jewett and it’s sooo healthy and yummy with healthy protein and oats for carbs ❤

My doctor said that after you stop these shots - the weight will come back, also they create facial aging that is more severe than regular weight loss because the shots influence the fluid balance in the body, eg. they have a cellular effect.
@NOBSBeauty
@NOBSBeauty 9 күн бұрын
That makes sense - a friend of mine was on one of those shots (I cannot remember the name, but it didn't sound like ozempic) for diabetes and she lost a lot of weight. Her diabetes was under control and her health insurance stopped covering it so she stopped taking it. Sadly after a few months the weight was piling back on again. How frustrating to go through all that. I have a feeling she will probably need to be on the shots for years and years unless something else changes. Just don't understand how some people can afford it? Maybe they have good insurance?

I workout 6 days a week lift weights, hit and cardio and I intermittently fast and it's the best thing I have ever done . I don't get caught up with the scale and what it says . Im 5 foot 4 125 pounds. I think u have done great Sarah so proud of you !! I definitely think you need to try to start building muscle though. Sarah, well done. That is an amazing loss. My thyroid won't let me lose weight. It's a pain. Hopefully I'll get balanced out with it soon as I'm about the same weight you were and 5ft 1. Fair play to you for putting the work in. The creatine won't just help with muscle, it's also great for heart health and brain health. You may not be able to get your nmn for much longer. Customs have started blocking shipments of it into the U.S. Appeals have been issued to the FDA as they're considering reclassifying it from a supplement to a drug (even though our bodies make it). Hoping they see sense.

Great job putting in so much work to lose weight! Can you share how you quit sodas? Did you go cold turkey or was it gradual? Did you find any substitute beverages or did you just switch completely to water? I'm having such a hard time stopping drinking soda. I have painful withdrawals, so I have to do it slowly but I can't find any beverages to switch to while I work my way toward (mostly) water only. I can't stomach artificial sweeteners. I start off by drinking sweetened tea in lieu of one or two cans of Coca-Cola (I'm now up to four cans a day but for years I held steady at two cans). But sweet tea has almost as much sugar as Coca-Cola, and so do most juices (which I don't really like anyway). I also substitute in flavored sparkling waters, but they taste a little bitter to me and don't really cut it. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it!
@NOBSBeauty
@NOBSBeauty 9 күн бұрын
Great point - so I substituted soda with Bubly Water- they have several different flavors and I have ended up loving it when I want something carbonated. My favorite flavors are strawberry, raspberry, and lemon. I did not love the Cherry flavor because it reminded me of cough syrup. Spindrift Water was also great- those have just five calories. And then occasionally unsweetened ice tea - Swoon was my favorite of those! I think the Spindrift doesn't have any artificial sweetener in it, just a hint of fruit juice.
@MishaRW
@MishaRW 9 күн бұрын
@@NOBSBeauty Thank you! I've tried almost all of the Spindrift flavors and I do like a couple of them. I'll give some more Bubly flavors a try. Unfortunately for me, Swoon contains stevia, which doesn't agree with my taste buds or stomach. I really struggle to find a substitute, but thanks so much for the suggestions.

Do the same thing with food that you do with skin care. Instead of those gummy‘s, just buy a pound of collagen powder without all the crap that’s in the gummy‘s and start adding it to your coffee, soups. For anemia, just start eating high-quality red meat. Try not to rely too much on supplements and find foods that have vitamins and minerals that you need.

I take Sumatriptan for migraines. I use Costrx and save alot of money. That med has saved me. I'd love for you to do a review on the Prequel Barrier Bounce. Now I'm using a Glycolic serum from Niche Beauty Lab for added moisture, which I like.
