FYI the reason u see walkers popping up like that on the beach of Normandy is the fact there are tons of bunkers under those hills. Alot of ppl seemed to miss that. They just thought it was a hill. And the scene w Laurent at the end was definitely a vision. That kid could in no way went traveling by himself then overnight in the rain. Its just showing us how torn Daryl is at leaving i think

One detail I saw someone point out that I loved was that Daryl got emotional seeing his grandfathers grave because he knew that’s what started his life and why he is the way he is today. His grandfather gave his life for a better cause which led to him to not be there for Daryl’s father growing up which led him not being there for Daryl and even tho him and Laurent may not have that father son relationship with him yet but I don’t think he wants to do that to him. With Rick coming back eventually he’ll have his family michonne him and RJ Judith and I think it’s a little fitting Daryl gets his family too. Obviously alot of people like Connie but story and production wise it would be too hard to make that work out.

Codron has been shown to be deadly and brutal but also merciful and when he was told to kill Laurent, an innocent kid, he isn't going to do it. He also saw the way Daryl reacted begging for mercy, so he probably thought that maybe he isn't this cold blooded killer even though he thinks he killed his brother. The change makes sense IMO.

I think my favorite part of the whole thing was when the crowd that was supposed to hate Daryl started cheering for him. That was straight out of Rocky 4!

Because some show viewers detest the Laurent character, I shared this comment on a few other channels. In episode 6, Isa used a bit of manipulation to get her point across, but what she told Daryl was true. The chemistry between Daryl and Laurent was palpable from the moment they first met, and I believe that some people are missing it. Even before they exchanged words, the boy mirrored Dixon and shortly after, he echoed Judith's comments to him while holding his hand.... "You deserve a happy ending too." A pivotal moment in the show. We were able to see the relationship between Laurent and Daryl grow over the course of the months that they were together thanks to plot devices. He is essentially the boy's chosen parent. Laurent would most likely not become the savior if Daryl abandoned him now; instead, he could become just another hurt child with daddy issues. Prospective readers have all the signs they need to know that Daryl can't leave him because, in all relevant respects, he is his son. My hypothesis is that he has settled into Daryl's heart's consciousness. Since Laurent following him covertly for two days seems unlikely, I'm going to assume that Daryl's mind is telling him to stick with the young "Messiah," which is what the hallucination is about. As some have suggested, I don't believe it's due to the negative effects of fighting super walkers. Daryl has at last found some happiness and a family of HIS OWN. I hope the writers of TWD: Daryl Dixon offer grace to this enduring character at the end of this series. The story doesn't have to end with everyone dying and wallowing in despair. ....Perhaps the boy did track Daryl to the D-day beach. But is it really such a bad thing for him to want to have a man that strong in his life? You all know that Judith would be furious with her uncle for abandoning a child who look up to him as a father figure.

The Codron scene reminded me of when Huck killed her battalion in TWB. They were ordered to kill the civilians and she took out her whole unit. Both scenes were bad ass! And Carol gave me Charles Bronson death wish vibes. Absolutely loved it and I can’t wait to see her in action next season.

Regarding the Walkers on the beach my guess is they were in whatever was left of the bunkers from the war and were roused by Daryl's yelling. One thing I really liked was how the Dixon family came full circle in this episode. Both Daryl and his grandfather fought on that beach, his grandfather was killed but Daryl survived, which symbolizes the son (or grandson in this case) succeeding where his father failed. They say everything happens for a reason and the reason his grandfather died on that beach was so his grandson could have a life that albeit tough and terrible at times provided him with the skills to survive in this new world.

Nobody is talking about this but the Quinn walker became a jogger. This is obviously because he was bitten by an enhanced walker. This right here might be answer to the end of world beyond. Heck the answer to the jogging variants from twd season 1-2. Maybe the scientist has been experimenting for years and some people got bit by these super zombies in Atlanta, thus turning them into joggers. Quinn also got out of breath really fast. And he turned fast. The guys he infected turned fast too. Obviously the jogger zombies in twd were an idea of darabont but this would be a fun way to introduce them officially.

The most interesting little revelation in the episode was that Genet’s scientist isn’t trying to find a way to get rid of the walkers faster, they are trying to extend the lifespan of the super walkers beyond 18 seconds. Codron wasn’t comfortable with them from the first time he met Genet, he saw they was weaponizing walkers and looked concerned he wasn’t down with that mess even tho he was yelling at Daryl in the pit. Plus he ain’t Negan he’s not a child killer and I think him seeing the way Daryl protected Laurent and them made him think he didn’t kill his brother so I have a feeling we’ll see Maribeth in S2, also if Codron survives this Genet mess he’s gonna be on our side.

I knew Daryl will be in France for season 2 or at least some part of season 2 but i was just so angry when Laurent showed up at beach. Kid is just thinking of himself and causing more and more problems and tbh i didnt really find it believable for Daryl to let go his chance to go back to US for Laurent. They just kept on screwing with him so he can help them get Laurent there and then he can go and when he completed his task now he is the bad guy for wanting to go to his "real family" in US

I was surprised Genet did not test Laurent's blood before saying he was a nobody. He might yet be a savior, if he's immune. I'm also thinking there might be a trade route with the CRM for variants from France. Carol might stow away on a ship bound for France, if she hears a story about Daryl. I'm thinking in Season Two, Carol and Darryl bring Laurent to the Commonwealth, which might've been taken over by the CRM, with Genet's team in hot pursuit. I think the Nest gets destroyed and Codron becomes a super-walker variant.

one thing that winds me up slightly is that they keep feeding us indirect CRM stuff. Like the stuff that Genet was saying to Codron about doing the bad things felt like an exact copy of what Elizabeth and Jadis were saying in World Beyond like I wish they'd just name drop or show us yes Genet's group is connected rather than telling us but not if you get what I mean ?? Like I get it some people dont like the CRM stuff but just like drop a few 3 circles somewhere or on some crate. And if Genets group aren't connected then the writers really need to find another villian archetype than militarist female antagonist dressed in a black felt coat who likes killing people to preserve the future 😂 also may just be me but when Genet said 6th Republic I don't know if it kind of sounds like Civic .. sixth and civic.. i know its a stretch

Episode 6 has raised an interesting question that arose in an earlier episode when Carol said "----- has returned" It is important to remember that Carol would not have left the kids if there was not someone strong to look after them. Does that mean that Rick, Michonne or both have returned and Carol is happy to leave them in their care? Who else could have returned for Carol to leave the kids?

I think Daryl was experiencing an allusion. If you notice the back of Laurent's image at the end the Zombies would have been charging at him. They were trying to recreate the moment when you are thinking hard about someone and u think you hear that person saying something but it might be just the wind. You have to remember Daryl's walk to that shore line was 2 days away from the Nest. Laurent is very naive of his whereabouts because he's spent most of his life at the convent so he would have never left without him letting Darly know. Then Darly spent a night of his travel in a cave because it was raining so hard. Laurent would have had to be right behind him to endure the rain.

This was so good, a little confused on the ending, was that Larant or another vision. I pieced together that the beach was Normandy immediately. I suspected Coldron may end up being a good guy, I seen the connection of him killing his brother with Merle and Daryll. I don't think he's part of the nest but I think he knows about the prophecy and he's not a bad guy who wants to kill kids but may have had a mother or something that was religious. I think him and his brother are a lot like Daryl and Merle. I other words, he's our French Daryll. I think Isabelle will just be happy to see Daryll, I don't think there will be animosity, I think she understands why he left but she didn't want him to of course

Daryl Dixon is set in France, and Laurent prays to god for guidance and protection before going into “battle “, Who else did the same in French history? Joan of Arc. I think that is what is meant by him being called the messiah, a leader to save France, and why the French are so willing to believe in and follow him.

This was amazing, start to finish. I audibly gasped and lost my shit multiple times during this episode! What a great finish to S1. I think Codron will come around to save the group at some point next season, especially once Darryl tells him what went down with his brother.

I’m glad Carol is trying to find Daryl. But before Daryl and Carol decide to live in France we still need a reunion with all characters Daryl, Carol, Rick, Michonne, Morgan, Maggie , RJ and Judith. We need all our group to fight the CRM and then they can go off to their happy endings.

Nah Negan has to meet up with Rick again as a changed man and Rick will see the payoff of his actions for having mercy on Negan and never giving up hope that people can change.

At first I had the deep eye roll when Laurent appeared on the beach. Then much later I had an "ah ha" moment - I think that is Daryl experiencing a vision as the reality of getting on that boat and leaving Laurent (and Isabelle) behind becomes all too real for him. And though I am in the minority I am not at all excited about Carol being in season 2. If it ain't broke, don't f*ck with it! I just have this "feeling" that Carol being back will upset a damn near perfect apple cart (that cart being this series).

My interpretation of Coudron ( idk spelling) not killing Daryl was he was never about killing random people but specifically kids he just wanted Daryl dead. And I don’t think he wanted to kill the kid and didn’t wanna kill Daryl infront of them and maybe wanted a more fair fight idk still a little confusing to me but that’s the way I interpreted it

That's also my interpretation. He told Genet that he couldn't kill Laurent. Just a day or two earier Genet was trying to get people to join her cause. Then suddently she wanted all of the Union of Hope people killed. That sudden change was too much for Codron to bear with

I thin that whole scene with Daryl on the beach watching Laurent waving at him is another vision or dream sequence, also I think Isabelle and daryl need to be a couple. also I think in the 2nd season Courdon might end up being the super zombie that they need. but that Laurent thing is definitely a premonition.

I think the scene where Laurant killed his father is relevant to the dream sequence. I believe Daryl had a premonition that Laurant would be safe and ready to lead
