I use mine for charging devices while on the trail. I liked it so much I bought a second one. I have used it countless time with mowers and and phone charging. It’s a must have. Phone, Zoleo and piece of mind having seamless two way communication everywhere I go with a guarantee to have enough power. I also used the strobe light at a bad car accident on a east coast Canada highway. I used the strobe to alert traffic until the police showed up. Then I bailed…. No sense being in danger longer than you have too. The cops were impressed with the unit and the light. I love mine like I said I own two.

I bought one for myself and used it on my own vehicle. It was -20 outside and it started my car after a couple attempts. One thing i did notice though was that it drained most of the power from the unit. Not sure if i used it properly or was just because it was extremely cold outside.

Just bought one. Had a crappy cat jumper pack with compressor etc that did everything badly. Only used it once since new, but opened the car to see it flashing to say it had malfunctioned. Took it back to Costco on Monday for full refund. Thursday, I took my mum shopping and sat in the car while she was in the shops. Didn’t realise my lights were on. EXACTLY! Why people moan about charging time? This is a portable jump starter, it is supposed to SAVE you from occasional dead battery. Noco GB40 Didn’t work for me. Bought after my 2015 cx5 battery was completely dead. Didn’t work after multiple attempts. After wrecker arrived he charged it with his tow truck and noticed car didn’t start after two attempts. He suggested we give it about 5 mins and then it did start. Few notes. My car was driven about two times in the last 3 months. I last moved it about a week prior to learning car was dead. In short, will try and return. I also noticed it took too long to initially charge this unit. About 12 hours and indicators didn’t function as should I had to repeatedly unplug cables and plug them back in. I was going to keep it and give it another try but not sure I want to throw away $100 if it doesn’t work.

Can you explain what this override feature is and when to use it and how to use it? He says he disconnected the car battery from car which I do not understand?
@dannyaspiras78102 жыл бұрын
@@deepb249 He disconnected the battery from his Truck to prove that the GB 40 can start a vehicle without a battery. If you have a very dead battery the GB 40 will not detect that it is hooked up to a battery. So that’s when you use the override switch which is the red button you need to hold that down until the LEDs start chasing back-and-forth. This now sends a direct current to your battery and you should wait at least 30 seconds or longer for your battery to absorb this current. And now you should be able to start your car. Hope this explanation helps. For more detailed instructions on how to use the GB 40 NOCO has a KZbin Channel with how to use their products check it out very informative.

No you do not have to disconnect the battery at all to use the GB 40. He disconnected the battery just to show a simulation if you had a dead battery the GB 40 should be able to start your car. I have used the GB 40 on many types of vehicles 4, 6, V8, and Diesel pick up trucks. NOCO GB 40 Didn't start my Honda 2.2 said it could start up to 3L however no luck here - was dead - the battery was at 5.7 volts and it was cold but not freezing - was not enough amps took my battery off the car and then charged overnight then put battery back on and car started - this device was not capable- I think it can start a battery with some drop in charge but not a depleted battery. I charged it all night then tried again in the morning with no battery straight to leads no start again .

GOOLOO GP200 = $89 on amazon as of today with 18000mAh power for charging any USB devices. This NOCO GB40 ($99 on amazon) has only 2050maH power. I plugged it into a USB charger at my house to charge the GB40 for the first time and the error LED came on steady, indicating reverse polarity! There was nothing in the manual about this situation. I pushed the buttons on the front, nothing. I unplugged it from the USB charger and the light remained on. I plugged it back in, no change, unplugged it, plugged it back in, the light remained on. But when I unplugged it and plugged it in a third time the error light went off and it started charging. Hopefully the unit isn't faulty, but I think that there was absolutely no charge in it to start with. I will leave an update later.

I work at Disneyland resort and we use this same battery pack on thousands of cars each year and they start every car we hook them up too, except electric cars. For electric cars, you need AAA to help you out there. They are good for about 20 charges but you can always check the life of the battery pack. It's a great little lifesaver if you're on the run because it takes no time at all too hook it up and start your car in under a min...Friendly user easy... Get rid of it and get a new one. They can be very dangerous when damaged. I have over 25 years experience with RC cars that run on lipo's and have seen them catch fire and explode. Keep in mind when they are damaged they will puff, but with the hard shell cover it would be hard to see what's going on inside. Its not worth the chance. As fare as repairing it, once they are damaged they are not repairable.
