So who in hell would give this video a thumbs down?? Used out NOCO today to start a motorhome. Ten cylinder, well below freezing for days-- started right up. Amazing device. Good video.

I bought this about the same time you introduced me to it 2 years ago. This thing is great. My 2001 5.3L Tahoe wouldn't start one day, and this started it right away, that's nice but this is the better part - I was needing to go to 5 appointments that day without any breaks to be able to replace the battery. Since the battery was not holding a charge even after driving, I then had to use the NOCO *five* more times that day in order to restart the truck , without recharging it. No problem at all, unbelievable.

i own a gb40 which is smaller than this model i've used it to start a 3L diesel which ran out of fuel had to crank and pump more than 20 times to get it to start it held for about 15 long cranks before it ran out so the larger one won't be a problem starting engines many times

Great Job Beau !, Keep Asking questions and following direction You Did Great Bud !, I've seen good reviews and read good things about the NOCO branded jump packs and I think I'll be in the market for one of this caliber, Appreciate the videos and sorry to see the paid episodes are going away, Really cuts into being able to run and support the channel when you loose that kinda funding, Keep up the great work 3+ year Tech at a corporate chain store and the Diagnostic starting points really come in handy- Real techs will understand what I mean , Have a good one Paul !.

Kudos two2 the camera man. I have some cixelsyd traits sometimes too. Sometimes the dog is facing east and sometimes west, so is it a b or a d. Repetition was key four4 me and we also have so many rules in the English language. If you have more than one ox, you have a couple of oxen but it you have more than one box it is not a couple of boxen it's a couple of boxes. Also I am a sight learner, I do better when I see something verses hearing it and then I take notes and reinforce what I learn. Great video Danner family.

Hi Dan, very short question! Is this a normal MAF reading, or is my car not starting because the reading is completely out of whack? Logically, should be 3g/s as car idles on 5g/s. Max RPM max WOT is 170 instead of 220, misfires consistently, steady highway speeds and throttle reads every 200ms anything between 60 and 75g/s. i.redditmedia.com/Yr6rXbkPpSjEuZYahCI_9MmLZXmKF6rTyhESi8CltjQ.png?w=1024&s=39b44f6e37d11f393fcd03ebe2e81f9a

I bought two, one for mine and one for the wife's car. They both started to swell and balloon the bottom black chassis around the 2.5 year mark. Warranty on both is only 12 months. I learned that generally speaking lithium batteries don't like being stored at 100% capacity for long period of time, and on average will fail after 2-3 years even if never used.

Cameraman Beau! Cool to see this become a family enterprise. He did great on his first vid! :) A couple years ago I picked up a couple Rockford Pocket Power 2.0 units for my wife and I. Been amazed by them. Fired up a stone dead .7v battery in a older Volvo 940 wagon, and got my neighbor's dead plow truck running with it. Barely bigger than a couple iPhones too! Pretty neat. Sure beats the old 20 lb. jump packs. I keep one in each vehicle now.

Thanks for the update! Nice to see the battery hasn't died or exploded in 2 years. Yeah the GB40 could start this engine but if it didn't start right away there simply is not enough reserve for multiple tries. For true diagnostic reserve capacity you need the GB150. I bet noco would send you one to compare...

This kind of long followup is essential for any proper review. It's nice to see it held a charge! I get so frustrated with battery operated devices, too many of them end up in the land fill because replacement batteries are more expensive than buying a whole new unit. New lithium batteries seem to be better than what we had in the past.

@johnnywalker5635
@johnnywalker5635 5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your video. I think it was done well. You showed us two failed starts. Then the jump. I don’t doubt this battery is good. But like a Smartphone lithium battery or a laptop lithium battery, I’m concerned this NOCO jumper will be useless after, say, 4 years. Then what do we do? It’s like burning $200 in cash after 4 years of it sitting around. Maybe you use it w couple times in 4 years or none at all. Would be nice if the internal battery could be replaced.

Hey Beau! Way to go, dude. Excellent camera work and good questions for pops there. Paul - what was that air hammer sound after the truck failed to start?? Keep smiling. You da man
@paultomasetti5164
@paultomasetti5164 7 жыл бұрын
Mario Dalla Riva - that sound was solenoid clicking. When the voltage is so low from a drained battery it can't keep the solenoid engaged. It releases as the voltage tanks then reengages rapidly making the clicking sound. But, don't just assume your battery is dead. A bad ground or corroded cable will reduce the juice to the starter causing the same sound. A jump or boost can overcome those conditions and start,causing you to ass-ume its just a bad battery.

@@ScannerDanner the older booster packs if you don't leave them charging full time they die within a year. How do you get a good product when we all get garbage I've got a Canadian Tire brands it looks exactly like the noko I bought it because I have a pt cruiser with a glitch sometimes it charges and sometimes it doesn't no rime or reason and since I don't have a mechanic I can trust I carry a booster pack with me at all times and cables my booster pack was great I thought the first time out I did 6 stops on my trip and it boosted it every time when I got home I recharged it up and the next time out the car started each time without a booste but my phone was dieing so I hooked it up to the booster pack and it charged it to 38 % and died so when I got home I charged it up again the next trip to town and the car did its thing again this time it only boosted it 5 times and each time I used it it did less and less boostes before it died until now it won't even booste it once so it's a very expensive flash light and it will still charge my phone to 38% I've got a phone charger that'll do that for 20 $ not as much light but it'll charge the phone to over 80 % so I went back to the old style booster packs and now I know why they die I might by properly charging it make it last a few years

Nice! I'm in the south hills :-) To be honest, I can't remember the house version of the charger. I always use my cigarette lighter in my truck to charge it. I'm sure you'll find that info on the link for the jump pack itself. I have it listed on my Amazon affiliate page here www.amazon.com/shop/scannerdanner

Mine just died. After two yrs done. Only holds 5v, never been left in the cold, regularly used it and recharged it. Noco won't do anything. Observation, when boosting a vehicle I thought the negative cable should go to the vehicle frame and not the dead battery to avoid battery explosions.
