I have the GB70 and a Ford 450 with a V10 6.8 l. My battery was so low the GB70 couldn't verify polarity, but they have a function to override the safety (and warnings to be sure the polarity is correct!) It started the engine with no problems!! I no longer carry jumper cables. I can re-charge from my solar if it need to. Great product. I re-charge it before each trip. Good video.

Running a car battery to below 60% level, and leaving it like this for more than a number of hours can cause irreversible damage to the electrodes. APG type batteries are more sensitive to be damaged. I have a GB150. I use it for my truck. Where I live we have temperatures going down to the -45 range during the winter months. I keep it in a case under the back seats. I also have a GB70 that I use for my car. I charge these up about every 3 months when not in use. After each use I charge it up. If you run down the battery in your vehicle, it can take about 30 to 60 minutes of driving for the alternator to top up the battery; depending on the size of battery and the charge rate of the alternator.

The great thing about those jumpers is you don't have to wait 5 minutes like you do with a normal car maybe 30 seconds and it should jump just fine I have the TV 150 matter of fact I have two of them I use one for personal use and I have another one up at my shop and I love them both. I even had the gb70 and the gb40 and the GB 700. Now I want the GB5000

Your welcome, this is one of the expenses that you don't truly appreciate until the day you need it. Also look at the different models like I said this one is overkill for my rig, depending on your vehicle you might be able to get way with one of their smaller models. Jason

Yesterday I took Melinda up Hurricane ridge for her Birthday.It was windy and cold up there so we ate lunch in the truck and I forgot to turn the lights off,they were on for a half hour.The truck started but one of them would of been a nice comfort. I have an 08 f150 that has both switched and constant aux plugs{cig lighters} If youuse a switched it will only charge when the key is on or running.

Situations like this happen all the time, I had a old Toyota that wouldn't ding at me when I had the lights on, and left them on once when I was in the Cascades and went hiking, came back soaking wet to a truck with a dead battery, had to wait several hours for my buddy to find me a jump start me, I would have done anything to have one these. Good point on the Aux cig lighter. Jason

Always hook up the pos first and neg last. Electricity flows neg to pos. When the neg is hooked up first, that pos lead is live. When it just touches metal it will arc.

You need to purchase the NOCO Accessory "NOCO XGC4" or be prepared to tie up your truck accessory 12 v. outlet for 3 hours. This accessory will allow you to charge up the GB-150 battery from 120-volt house current electricity.

I contacted Noco and asked them the same question you had - Is it ok to leave the unit on charge 24/7 or is it better to charge the battery intermittently? They wrote back and told me there is absolutely no problem leaving the unit on charge all the time. They did stress however the importance of fully draining the unit occasionally and then re-charging it completely. They stated that doing so would increase the life of the battery. Now I just have to figure out how to somehow to discharge the unit fully! J.D

Jason, I need to look into the GB series of charger-boosters! I see other brands (small units) advertised lately on infomercials in the wee hours of the morning! They make similar claims. I am looking for something that could keep my iPhone camera running in bitter cold, battery-sapping conditions when I'm out ice fishing. Something like this might be the answer. What do you think? Thanks so much for the super review! Very well done! I love the magnified look at the product's controls!
@PrimalOutdoors

Thanks they have some smaller units, specifically for charging usb devices that should work for that, I have one not from NOCO, that I bought a while ago and use it to extend the battery life of my action camera and to charge my phone. If NOCO's other products work as good as this did, I don't think you can go wrong. Thanks for watching and I am glad you found it useful. Jason

Hi Jason, I have been a viewer of yours for a while, I am from the UK and an Overland Bound Member. I am just outfitting my GMC truck for some overlanding of North America in December, starting at my dads in Oshawa where the truck was built originally! I was doing my research on the Noco after learning about them from Micheal at Overland Bound, he has the GB70. My question for you is - How is the GB150 doing 3 years later? I am thinking it makes sense to buy the larger capacity GB150 for an extra $150 and have extra watts and Amp hours. Also does it come with the adapter for plugging in the GB150 when at home into a wall outlet or do you have to buy this additionally? keep up the good work and it was nice to discover an oldish video of yours, you have come a long way with your channel well done and hope one day i bump into you on a trail? Best wishes Amanda

gb70 HD is rated for 2000 amps on the front, but thats just for the boost. You want a sustained load rating.THe GB HD 70 will give you 1 hr at 60w,, rated on the back for 54 watt hours, tested by another youtuber to last for an hour with a 12v (13.2v actual) 60 watt load.

Nautic Sport SP18600 - www.nautic-sportinc.com Will easily jump start a v8 gas engine about 12 times on one charge without any battery and about half the price of the GB150, and holds a charge for 6-8 months when not being used. Can charge all USB devices, laptops, and also run 12v accessories at the camp.

there isn't any way that that produces 4000 amps considering there GB 30 and their GB 70 you don't produce the amps that they say there are ample to start the vehicle though they no longer list on their website how many Watt hours are on their units if you have Watt hours and voltage you can determine what the discharge is on the battery and on their other units they would have to be at 455 C which means 455 times their amperage that's a huge battery. it would have to be nearly thirty-six amp hour battery 2000 amp is much more believable impossible at this date
