For this video I pulled my Noco Genius Boost Battery Jumper out of my Jeep after using it for 5 years. I give an update of how my Genius Boost is holding up and give a mini-review of my Genius Boost GB-150 emergency battery jumper and power-pack. I also mention that this power-pack works great as a power-source in a SHTF or other emergency situation.

A guy that works for AAA told me you can jump start diesel trucks with no battery with the gb150. When I asked how he knew. He said car batteries do get stolen lol.

One important feature that you missed in your review, was the red circle button with the exclamation mark. For lithium jump starters to work, they need to read at least 2 volts from the dead battery, if they don't get this reading, they don't realize they are connected to a battery, and will not supply a boost charge. NOCO has this bonus feature, if you press that button, it will send a boost charge, even though the device does not recognize that it is attached to a battery. This is a huge feature, so helpful for REALLY dead batteries.

Lots of Jeeps have little 4 cylinder engines (I have no idea what your particular Jeep has under the hood,) lots of Toyotas have 350s.

I have a trusty Gooloo that's never let me down but if it ever dies the Noco is absolutely top-notch. But whatever you do, don't befoul it on a 'yota. Just let nature reclaim them where they are.

We use the GB150 on the farm. We start combines, tractors, semi’s and whatever is dead as a door nail around the farm. Works extremely well in cold weather as well.

No need to spend the dollars on the 150, unless you just want to. I have the 75, and it jumped my Cummins 6x to get me home when my alternator went out, I've used it for dozens of other people's vehicles, as well as several commercial vehicles (dump trucks, bucket trucks, auger trucks, heavy equipment, etc.). Great piece of kit.

I've been using a battery mounted Genius 2 for a while now and it's the best $50 I ever spent. Freezing cold outside? Just plug it in, drop the hood back down, remove cord in morning, starts up immediately. The fact it helps maintain and repair the batteries is awesome too.

I carry the smaller gb70 in my 1983 Toyota, in case my battery is run too low to start my small engine after towing and winching "manly" and "broken" jeeps all day. My GB70 has also been flawless and has freed multiple FCA products from the Rubicon, Fordyce and other Nor Cal trails. great review!

It would have been good to open it up, see what battery cells are inside and assess how they could or not be replaced the day they will invariably go bad (typically 4-5 years: yours shows the beginning of the end at 25% loss in one year: it’s capacity has probably degraded as well.

I assume you mean a marine VHF radio in the USA. The Baofeng radios will receive all the marine VHF frequencies. An unlocked radio will even transmit. The first question you need to ponder is what are you going to use it for. Who are you thinking you might need to talk to? In case you didn't know, they also have marine HF (short wave) radios for boats out in the ocean.

Mine has endured summertime in the So. Cal desert, the Arizona desert, and Death Valley and it seems to be doing just fine.. I keep it out of the direct sunlight, but when parked in summertime my Jeep can get very hot inside.

I can vouch for the smaller girl-sized one, and yes it stays in a Toyota but I mostly used it on the JK's we had at work (R.I.P.). Phantom electrical gremlins, you know. 😂 Oh wait I did use it on my other Toyota. It's 28 years old and had an 8 year old battery.

Thank for the review on this. I have been looking for a good, honest review. I still carry an Autowit SuperCap 2 for most uses and I never need to worry about it being charged since it can use any exiting battery, even partially dead ones to charge it. I need to try using it to charge my phone.
