Being a drummer does give you all the power when you are on stage. I used to like the 'big endings', drawing them out for as long as I wanted and stopping when I decided to stop. And, of course, there was absolutely nothing anyone could do if I then turned the 'big ending' into a drum solo. I don't play the drums now. LOL A shame this clip doesn't have visuals too.

Sad reality for drummers, the singer, lead guitar, rhythm guitar etc. can fuck up whenever they want, and it’s highly improbable that someone will notice their mistakes, but a fucking drummer, he fucks up and the core and security of a band’s sound gets absolutely destroyed, that’s just the way that it is

Being a drummer in bands myself, I can offer some insight. While it's kind of inexplicable why Whitey decided to duck out of the song early (C&A is not like Swamp Song or Champagne Supernova, where Noel would nod them into/out of sections), I know from experience that it's very easy to sit at your laptop, listening, and think "'kin' idiot!". Sitting at home is very different from the heat of the moment onstage. Without video it's hard to tell, but Alan's fill at 0:23 sounds very rushed and nervous, indicating he was put off by something, probably Liam, given Liam's away from the mic at 0:25. Even then, after the "you gotta, you gotta..." part, I can't figure out why Alan skipped the following 16 bars of Noel lead, but I can tell you that *something* about the "you gotta, you gotta..." section being half-arsed and likely something onstage (which we can't see) caused him to incorrectly anticipate that they were going to cut the song short. I've had it happen to me a few times - EVERYTHING about the situation says "nah, fuck this off, cut it" (with band members even gesturing at me), then you drop out of the song... *but they carry on* and make you look a right tit! Also, inside the ribbing of Alan after the song I feel is some grudging respect, because after playing with Tony all those years and then Alan coming in and nailing it right from the off, I bet this was the first serious gaffe he committed onstage and, especially with this gig going out on radio (I think?), Liam and Noel couldn't let it go without busting his chops.

I used to think it was Liam’s fault they split but when you read what he put some of the road crew through and his complete ruthlessness in the sacking of White it’s clear he’s a Narcissistic Control Freak… it was OK when the Original band members could Keep it in check … but I think he started believing his own bullshit … it’s kinda ironic that everyone has embraced Liam in his Solo work and not Noel … it must really get under his skin … People just genuinely love Liam even though he can be a dick he can be funny and charming and also make fun of himself….
