When joining the two dry pots together, then adding wet clay or paper mache to seal the two edges together, be sure to either lightly mist the area with water, or apply a thin layer of glue to form a positive connection. It helps prevent cracking and shrinkage.

As well as making the joined pots look smoother and more like one pot. She finitely should have misted the dried areas then put some ‘slip’ over the joined area. I hope this vase will not eventually dry up and the piece will split. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Your tip on how to prevent the plastic bowl from splitting is excellent, thank you. 👏👏👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

For the first project could you leave the plastic vessels and cover both the inside and outside with paper mache in order to give it more structure?

So beautiful! Would it be ok to use paper towels instead of bagged paper mache? Thanks!
@NoelleTateHome3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! You could use paper towels if you are using a paper mache recipe with them that has glue and stuff like that. But this is just way easier because it’s already pre made and you just add water! You can order it from Amazon too!

Noelle girl you’re so smart and talented. I love these. You help people to save so much money and get the style we desire. I’m sure we’re all thinking the same thing. I can maybe replicate what you do, but I’d never be able to think of the items to use. Wow. I know I’m late on this video but I’m so impressed by you. I just looked and these mixing bowls are no longer available. Do you have any other suggestions? Also I know I can grab any size of these planters from Lowes, but what size did you use? Fav DIYer on KZbin every since the double knot from Target. I had already bought the original but you just opened my mind to what could actually be made.

You could have made the feet by using an ice tray as a mould. Then they would have been perfectly the same size. I saw this on ‘Casa Refined by Jorge’ here on You Tube. He was making a very clever vessel using cement but many of his tips could be used here as well. He had an ingenious way of creating a wonderful shape and he also covered it in (handmade) papier-mâché before the cement. Worth watching.
