This song was covered over 650 times and is the most played song ever. You need to remember there was no auto-tune. This is solely Bobby's voice alone. His range was outrageous, spanning 5 octaves. If I remember correctly, they had over 20 number 1 hits and 3 albums in the top 100 at one time. You can't pick a bad song from them. "You've Lost That Loving Feeling", "Soul & Inspiration" and Bill's solo of "The Time of My Life" are amongst their top hits.

They had 22 Billboard hot 100 hits of which 2 were number ones. They were the first band to have 3 albums in the top 20 simultaneously and the only one to have two versions of the same song in the top 20 simultaneously (Unchained Melody). ‘Lovin Feeling’ was the most played song of the 20th century and was not surpassed until 2019. It is also listed in the Library of Congress as ‘culturally significant’

Most people. black, white or any other shades, when the Righteous Brothers first started being played on the radio, thought exactly what you thought, Shaq.....that they had to be black. Tragically, Bobby Harfield died in the 2003, way too soon. The Rightous Brothers were still performing to full house venues, and Bobby was taking a nap in his hotel room before he was going to perform. He did not show up at the venue to do the performance. Then all the phone calls to his room were unanswered. When folks went into his room, he was already dead...from some possibly treatable heart problems and considerable amounts of Cocaine in his blood. Such a waste and to this day, I am sad to think of it. You did a great reaction to this golden performance, Shaq. Best wishes to you from a grandmother in the Adirondack Mountains of Northern New York State.

He wasn't taking a nap. They arrived from California the day before the first show of the tour. That evening he wasn't feeling well so instead of dining with the whole group, he had dinner in his room, fell asleep and never woke up. In fact, Bill said he looked gray; Bill should have gotten him to the hospital then. Unfortunately, Bill didn't recognize that Bobby had signs of an impending heart attack. He had 95% blockage in at least 1 coronary artery. The others couldn't have been great either. He did not have considerable amount of cocaine in his system. The medical examiner described it as a trace amount and no illegal substances or drug paraphernalia were found in his room just his prescribed cardiovascular meds, just by the way. The ME also told Bill he couldn't see Bobby living through that month with his heart problems. Bobby had a doctor's appointment scheduled for after the tour. If it had been before it, he might have gotten the bypass surgery he needed. He may or may not have survived until today if he had. 83 is beyond average life expectancy.

Almost 60 years later this still causes chills. I was a teenager when this came out and I loved the Righteous Brothers.

I love me some Righteous Brothers. Blue eyed soul is the genre. As much as they kill it on this song, you should check out You’ll Never Walk Alone. You get to hear both of their vocal ranges. And the emotion that comes from them is very palpable.

But nothing beats the British and Australian soccer fans singing you never walk alone 😉♥️♥️♥️ kzbin.info/www/bejne/faCQm32ifMlkqdE

Used to watch you years ago. You were one of the first I saw doing reactions. Logarithm started showing you again.

The song was written about a man in prison and about to be released wanting to know if she was still waiting. More of this era and 60's and 70's. You'll love the sheer talent.

Just an FYI they stole this. They didn't do it 1st. They took it from someone else.

To hear them both sing together, The Righteous Brothers, "You've lost that Loving Feeling." Check out David Draiman (Dra man) of Disturbed's video, "The Sound of Silence." I usually recommend live, but this is one where the video really adds to the song.

I'm SO happy that you picked THIS performance. This is hands down my favorite one because he does such a beautiful job of showcasing his ability. My wish is to have radio waves flooded with this level of talent again.
