Since I first heard Persian as a child I've always loved the sound and cadence of it. I really like Chiara's comment about music. Music is important to me too. It's the reason I started learning Finnish eight years ago, and what a journey it has been. Learning a language really opens the heart and mind to different ways of thinking, and can bring you experiences and relationships you would never have imagined. German feels familiar to me because of my Mennonite heritage, but Finnish is probably the language I love the most.

Naiyer (the Indian guy) is hard to distinguish from a native speaker, which is not surprising given how Hindi-Urdu and Persian are related. However what's surprising is the Eszter, Hungarian girl. From some knowledge I have from Hungarian, despite it being not related at all to Persian it has a very similar phonology, especially in how consonants and vowels are arranged.

They are speaking Persian very good. I think for everyone that is trying to learn Persian, I recommend that they should be relaxed and they don’t need to worry too much about delicate features of Persian language like taarof or dialects and etc. The Iranian can understand that it is hard to learn all these and never judge you for your mistakes. Also, I can understand that there is not a lot of valid sources to learn that what is right or wrong in Persian. In my opinion, because Persian speakers are very diverse in culture and their background, you may hear that something is wrong but someone else will say that is incorrect. For example, the prepositions in Iranian Persian and other variation like Tajik and Dari are somewhat different. Cudos to all participants and Bahador for conducting this episode!

As a Farsi speaker, I’m blown away by the intelligence of 4 of the participants in this discussion, I just couldn’t believe how relatively fluent in Farsi was the Chinese gentleman considering the fact he began learning Farsi just two years prior! The human brain is truly a fascinating thing and one thing got very clear to me and that is the very fact that we are all one and borders and nationalism is the most meaningless part of our human identity ! It’s so important to respect and recognise the validity and significance of each nation but as we are getting closer to a possible world war 3 It’s about time that we value our shared identity that is the identity of the human race. The first thing that will bring an everlasting peace to the world is the understanding that a worldwide spoken language will get rid of prejudices and racism and the second thing that will forever guaranty an everlasting peace in the world is to share this planet together in the most active way possible and that’ll be the conceice efforts to get rid of borders and though it might sound impossible yet as other things in life the will is the key in achieving big goals and putting aside national pride and rejecting racism would be a given when people of the world can truly understand each other when they can speak the same language That’s why the first thing we should aim for is to establish one language for the whole world and that doesn’t mean that we should discard the cherished languages of each country, far from that , the aim should be the familiarisation of different cultures to one another and the rest will fall into place on its own. The aim should be to concentrate on the word “ one” without stripping away the healthy pride of each culture , it’ll happen sooner or later But if it happens later then it would probably be at a great cost to the whole world, wars are not essential part of our existence. Wars are becoming meaningless with the ever increasing access of ordinary people to the internet and the first hand experience of understanding what’s really behind the causes of wars ! And it’ll be inevitable that humanity would let ignorance continue to the next century. It’s all about truly understanding the nature of humanity and its very oneness that selfish and brutal people have always benefited from the old and disgusting notion that is all about divide and rule !
