I have had almost every problem with aids from several agencies in Georgia. This last CNA took it upon herself to use my debit card for her own purposes because the agency hadn't paid her yet for gas. (This was after she didn't show up for two weeks)! She was only authorized to go grocery shopping for me. I did not authorize her to buy her lunch and gas on my money. Then when I reported it she started making harassing phone calls to my house acting entitled. The agency as far as I know did not call the police. I could only email them because for some reason one of the two people in the office had it going straight to voicemail and then tells me she's not getting my messages I've left and the other had a message on his phone after ringing 4 times that the number is "disconnected". At this point I and my son think they blocked it so as not to have to deal with the consequences. I have told them by email to call tech support and get it fixed because email is not sufficient for emergencies. They promised to come see me in-person on two different days and stood me up both times, and now have ceased responding to my emails too. I am on Medicaid and frankly the Medicaid caseworker who is supposed to provide some management to agencies doesn't care. When I report these things she just tells me she'll call them and that lots of other clients are running into substandard aids too. There does not seem to be any escalation process when the agency is negligent. I have even written President Biden saying that new legislation needs to be made and all he responded back with is that "these services are vitally important", without any reference to improving them. If all a client gets is being taken advantage of and irresponsible, disrespectful, unreliable aids who are only in it to make a buck then how is it anything vital. I am on my own with no back-up at all!

Sorry you had this experience. You should explore the consumer directed services where you can be serviced by someone you know and trust, have you researched that in your area?

@@Karl__Pierre I don't think we have anything like that in my area. I live in a state that is not very progressive and behind the national average for most social services. I have heard that some states will pay a friend or family member to be your aid. Is that what you're talking about?
