Karmacipher is another band that really makes me appreciate the rhythm side of guitar playing, especially towards the end of Whirl. For a lot of that song, and at multiple points, the lead hangs on a few notes for really long with some tremolo picking while the rhythm just goes wild.

Uff that riff that @4:31 is so distinctly ArtiB, beautiful. That setup you have going on with the Line 6 Helix through Cubase sounds awesome. Do you have to do much trickery in Cubase to get a good sound from it or is it fairly plug and play?
@noobsauce4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I went to Cubase from Reaper in order to switch over to the same DAW as my bandmates for easier project sharing. Both are great DAWs honestly. As far as the Helix goes, it's great right out of the box and it's pretty amazing once you find your tweaks. Really simple to use, and there are a ton of tutorials online that get you up to speed.
@richiefarrell47264 жыл бұрын
@@noobsauce awesome thanks for getting back! Sounds like a nice set up. Currently using Reaper, with a the Neural DSP Nameless Plug-in, it's pretty limited in scope plug-in but that's the beauty of it too. On an unrelated note, I'm really curious how it works in ArtiB on the guitars, is there 3 guitarists who would play live? Looking forward to the new stuff very much.

@@richiefarrell4726 the band started with 2 guitarists, and I came on board in 2014 as a live guitar fill-in. After a year of playing shows/first US tour, the band decided we should join forces for good, and now we're here. We still write parts for two guitars, and whoever is around for live shows gets to play them!

@@noobsauceThat's a rather unique and openminded arrangement for metal guitarists to establish, very cool!

@@richiefarrell4726 Thanks! At this point, we've had countless shows with fill-ins for all original members. It's almost a collective, and we love that communal aspect. @dis.infectant4 жыл бұрын
@@noobsauce Only the G. It may lack that grit from the wire coils, if that's what you mean. You're on a 7 so it may not matter as much with gauge. It's basically just like a thicker plain string, so much so you don't even notice it's even wound at all.
@noobsauce4 жыл бұрын
@@dis.infectant are you referring to true flatwound strings that are used in jazz guitar? Cause I've never heard of people mixing flats and roundwounds. I just use regular Ernie Ball Slinky Cobalts standard 10 gauge.

@@noobsauce Yes. Someone accidently gave me a pack of flatwounds once... Stocks sets tend to gravitate between too light or too heavy on the G for me, and I prefer a non-wound.
