Don't feel bad about showcasing this, or any other item (no matter how extravagant). The point is not that it's showing off, or being self indulgent - it's that it's helpful information before someone else dumps thousands (or hundreds) of dollars on a table. The information is helpful, which is good for us as the viewers! I've been curious about those Moby tables and now I have a much better sense of what you get for the $$$. So thanks!

As long as you disclose what was given/gifted as you promote it, then I'm certain no one will think that you've lost any integrity. As this video proves, even when you are given something you'll still provide straight up feedback, whether that be positive or not. I always appreciate the No Pun Included take on things, so thank you for that!! Please keep us updated on which table finds it's way to you next.

I could watch you do a video about anything. But since you did the table already, I insist you make a full series of gaming-related furniture videos. Gaming CHAIR is the obvious follow-up, then gaming SHELVES... but I hope you branch out from there and cover more and more furniture with more and more tenuous connections to gaming. Maybe a gaming LAPDESK for a relaxing solitaire game, which would naturally lead to a gaming OTTOMAN. Maybe a gaming PICNIC TABLE for outdoor gaming. A gaming HOME BAR for party games. A gaming WRITING DESK for roll & writes. The point I'm really trying to make is this: it's 2:30 am and I had way too much coffee way too late in the evening. Regardless, the word you were looking for is RECESSED.

I’ve had one of these for just over a year now and I have generally been quite impressed. There are a few issues, the main one being that the vault is too small for larger games. Also, the edges are square and quite sharp which means it can be uncomfortable to lean on. Lastly the base of the vault is quite thin and I believe it is glued in situ; this means that it will give way if you lean on it.

Thanks for this Efka - I hadn't thought about how the focus point changes but you're completely right - I am currently looking for a table upon which to have games set up more long term, and this may well be a way to go - now to find somewhere in New Zealand that does it!

Their website has a big green stamp at the bottom that says "100% solid hardwood". Is chipboard considered "solid hardwood"? Being able to leave games setup does sound pretty great though. Sure, I don't review games, but I do have cats. I have to assume my cats love to play games at night when we're sleeping because the next day I'll find pieces in different places (mostly on the floor).

I think that little banner on the bottom refers to their main line of tables, but the Moby Geek line is absolutely chipboard. It's better chipboard than some of my other furniture, but still chipboard.

Great video! Glad you guys are enjoying it! A friend of mine helped me build a nice gaming table a while back. I've been surprised how much it enhances game play. What seemed like a indulgent luxury now feels like a requirement for games. It really does impact/improve game play far more then I ever thought it would. Glad to see cheaper alternatives are coming out for those not lucky enough to have a carpenter friend that works for pizza. :D

The sunken down point is interesting, but also a non-collapsable table is out of the question for me. I'll definitely keep it in mind as I try and design my own table though, but I don't know how useful it would be, or for that matter how I'd make it fit with runners for expanding.

This was such an interesting video and thank you for making it! I am in the process of moving house and I always wanted a gaming table. But I already have an absolutely fine table and was considering that it is a waste to throw it away, just to indulge myself. So I was looking into the range of Game Toppers that are now on Kickstarter. They look really nice and would allow me to utilise my already existing table for gaming, and then be stored away for all other purposes. However, I stumbled across the moby geek page and I was realising that a game topper would be double the price compared to this table, so I was wondering if that was too much of an extra cost. As the table would be a center piece for our kitchen, seeing your review and the quality of the table, I realised that this is not what I am looking for. That doesn’t necessarily mean that I will cave for the Game Topper, but at least I know that I would prefer a better quality for my personal space. This is just my opinion for my space, not trying to dissuade anyone from buying this table or saying that it is bad in any way or form.

I think you're also forgetting that you're a much cheaper way for the company to reach it's desired target market - the cost of a table is probably far cheaper then the cost of other forms of advertising. SO as everyone else has said, don't feel bad Efka =p

Great video again guys, love the channel. Would love a gaming table, I do have room once I get rid of current dining table (misses might not be too ken tho). But I am torn between a GeeknSon or Natural Twenty table (both are in UK so better options for shipping than Rathskellers in Greece!). I know GeeknSon are the more established brand but I heard that Natural Twenty were at the UKGE this year, so anyone watching got an comparison between table qualities?

How well does it work as a table though? The surface seemed to be rather high, which can be awkward for smaller persons - also: do your legs fit below the table, e.g. when sitting very close to it? On the other hand though, I spend *much* more on a regular kitchen table and my only criteria were: does it fit double width X-Wing and does it fit TI3.
@NoPunIncluded

I felt the same way. I managed to find a table with 6 chairs at a second hand store for 700. I then took it apart, built a box underneath with plywood, lined with foam and felt, and repurposed the tabletop into a cover. $800 total for a 6x4 gaming table with cover and 6 chairs.

For all your feeling of awkward receiving this, I would justify it in the same way I do for anyone who is good at their job. If you're going to be doing it for a while, it pays for itself to get the proper tools to do the job. I worked as a pipe inspector and had to edit a lot of videos from jobs I was doing, and I was always thinking it would have been so much easier if I had a second monitor. I aired my grievances to a colleague of mine who was a mechanic working on those same pipes, and he made the point to me that, not only should I have a second monitor, I should also have a computer that is made for the editing job. He went on and equated it to his tools that he got for doing his job. If he had to do his job with tools not fit for the job, he would have simply quit years ago. So I asked the boss, got a second monitor, and a computer made for editing videos and productivity went up several 100% percent (not exaggerating). The fact that you got it for free just means you've saved money to do more of the stuff we come to the channel to see, and as and added bonus for us, we get to see the selection of tables that might interest us and know about all it's quirks and positives. I have been looking to get a table for ages, so I appreciate a good look at those tables. This seems to cheap however, I want mine to be more of an heirloom piece than this. I'll probably be looking to get a more expensive one from geek and son (as I don't think I have other options in my country).
