Norcold RV Refrigerator Door Replacement [Full Time RV Living]

Our latest DIY RV Repair project showcases the easy DIY RV refrigerator door replacement on a Norcold N611T RV Refrigerator. For added strength we decided to install a hinge upgrade kit that should help support the load on the plastic door hinges.
A common failure point of the Norcold door assembly is the bottom hinge. Many of us overload the door without realizing it which can lead to premature hinge failure.
We are Brian and Shawnna, a full time RV couple who enjoy full time RV living. We are empty nesters who recently quit our corporate jobs, sold our home and auctioned off just about everything we own to live a simpler, more purposeful life in our RV. Ordered our replacement lower door from the Norcold Guy including the reinforced hinge set. Your video was precise and very helpful installing. The only difficulty we had was sliding in the old frig front (2008) that was glued onto a pressed wood backing and popping the top plastic piece in place. It could be they have changed some of the front parts over time. We also did not use the washer on the hinge install because the door didn't close easily.

I remember the first time I had to repair the door and our Sticks and Bricks and is similar to the RV repair so looks like something I'd be able to tackle it had to good job

This is when I found out that a good repair kit to have onboard is a super glue and baking soda. Makes a quick fix in alot of repair situations. Namaste

We have the 18 cf nor cold, the hinges bend over time and the cold starts to leak out making the fridge get warm. Terrible design. Thanks for sharing your repair,

If you add up the cost of fixes like you just completed as a DIY versus a 'dealer' fix you will save yourself hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Thanks for sharing the fix. ]

my fridge is not cooling i see a lot of fridge fires it scares me i unplugged it and i use a cooler we eat out most of the time anyway i only use my motorhome 4 weeks a year so i am good
