SERIOUSLY----THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO. Our door fell off two days ago and we didn't know what to do. My dad found your video here and today he and my husband fixed it just as you showed and we are back up and running again. You saved us SO MUCH MONEY. Thank you.

Thank you for the idea. I used a triangular 4 inch hinge. Glued the broken piece on. Then put the appropriate sized drill bit in. Placed the hinge on the bit and marked the cut. The three holes are offset on the hinge so it worked perfectly and lookse factory. Did the top hinge with the other side of the triangular hinge.

Too much plastic in places that need strength. Nice fix, and like most things that need fixing, they turn into bigger jobs (hence the need for washers). 👍

Yeah it happens but luckily I had the washers lol thanks for watching

Great idea for a quick fix, especially if you're on the road. I, too, experienced same issue although my fridge is a right handed door. The only thing I did differently was purchase a small stainless steel plate at Ace Hardware for $1.00, and it is about half the thickness of a door hinge. So I didn't need to shim the posts with washers as you did. Worked great! One small item of concern is that the door now rocks a bit when opening/closing & I wonder whether or not the top post will eventually break as well since it is also made of plastic. Thoughts?
@JonesN2Travel3 жыл бұрын
Hi Howie. I've never experienced the top hinge breaking but I suppose it could. I think the bottom hinges commonly fail because of all the door weight especially when the door is full of jars etc. Hope that helps. Thanks for checking out the videos and following along. Safe Travels

Thanks for the information. I had the same problem with our fridge. Just got the door hinge stabilizer and just need to put it together. I notice you have put what appears to be bungy cord across the front of your top shelf. How has that worked for you, how far above the shelf is it mounted and how did you attach it to the side of the fridge? Thanks for the information.
@JonesN2Travel4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. So glad you liked the video. That bar you see is actually part of the fridge. It slides in and out of the notch in the sidewall of the fridge. We also use tension rods, you can get the short ones at Walmart, to hold the items from sliding around inside the fridge. Simply adjust the tension rod to fit between the inside walls of the fridge. :) Safe Travels
