Interesting video, thanks Travis. I have to say from an aesthetics point of view it looks cheap and plasticky but not having seen one in the flesh, I shouldn’t perhaps comment like this but from your review, I would avoid this one personally and go for either Concept 2 (the gold standard of course) or the Hydrow for interactive classes.

Love your reviews helped out a lot. You mentioned that the Nordic Track equipment share the same membership perks. One thing I found out which I like and I'm not sure you mentioned it in your videos but the achievements and medals can be achieved faster with the help of owning more Nordic Track equipment. For Example: 200 exercises gets you a free shirt. I found out I can do 100 exercises with my Nordic Track bike and 100 exercises with the rower and it will combine the total automatically and you will unlock goals and achievements quickly.

Thank you so much Kevin and great feedback. I think I have talked about this in videos (not sure about this one) but not to the level using multiple products to help reach achievements. Good point and I will try to keep that in mind for future videos!

Do any of the rowers allow your feet to rest in your natural position. I am bow legged and my feet naturally point out a bit instead of straight ahead. I had an inexpensive rower several years ago and found it stressful for my ankles and knees because it locked your feet pointing straight to the ceiling. Who has the best content for senior citizens? Thanks for the informative reviews. I have clicked the like button on every one I watched!
@Learnwithtravis3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much R W! I hate giving answers that are not what people want to hear, but the feet situation seems to be pretty much the same for all four rowers I have. Vertical foot holders that strap down. The only different is how far the gap is between the feet. As far as content for senior citizens... I think they all could be. I might be put the Ergatta slightly in front the Aviron. I think both could be a great option but the Ergatta has the ranking system to help you compete against others at your level. Of course the Aviron has more modes but not sure if most seniors want to play arcade styled games and things like that. If you want instructor led content, both NordicTrack and Hydrow could work. I would probably lean towards Hydrow of the two as I think the content is a little more polished but both could work fine. Hope that helps!

Have iFit on my threadmill, and looking into a rower. Torn between buying the RW 700 and get the integrated experience, or bying the Concept 2 and stream iFit through the TV and manually follow the iFit program without the integration. Leaning towards the latter as the Concpet 2 seems to be a superior machine.
@Learnwithtravis2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you may already be heading towards the best direction for you. The NordicTrack is nice if you want some of the tracking, stat collection and stats on-screen. as well as the resistance change. If you are okay with losing some of those connected fitness features and more about the content, your solution could work great. Good luck with your decision!

If you buy this rower, I recommend getting the 2021 model...and NOT the 2022. There are major differences between the two. For example, the 2022 doesn't fold up and has only magnetic resistance.

I've had this for about 1.5 years now. Mixed experience. On the plus side, it basically gets the job done. Would have held out for the Concept 2 but it was only months of waitlist at the time, or even the cheaper NordicTrack with the smaller screen because we don't use the big screen much. Build quality is terrible. The strap started fraying within weeks -- terrible choice. The angle of the strap is too low compared to competition. The screen is a big problem. It won't stay in place -- it gradually drifts to a downward angle and is not designed to be able to be tightened enough -- even with tools -- to secure it at the right angle. It also sits slightly askew from the moment of install -- not adjustable. The whole thing developed a creakiness within weeks of use. And, laughably, there's no way to turn it on and off short of simply unplugging it every single time, then waiting for almost 5 minutes for it to fully boot after plug in. Quickly got bored with their classes and tours and wanted to stream my won content which required coming up with an elaborate way to hold my iPad Pro at the right height and angle next to the rower because it couldn't be accomplished with the screen.

I saw that the Hydrow is not usable without their subscription, which would be a bummer. So default content loaded without having to get iFIT, seems like a plus. I want to meld the iFIT content with a water rower like the Ergatta, gaming does nothing to motivate me lol. I have the Nordictrack bike so was contemplating getting a cheap rower and just turning the bike monitor, but honestly love the weekly stats displayed on the bike…not sure how that works out if you do a rowing class but with an unconnected machine
@Learnwithtravis2 жыл бұрын
I believe you can still use iFit on another device and get credit for the ride. You will not get the same stats but you should be able to get your own water rower and do this. Good luck!

@@Learnwithtravis something I just realized is you can order the Ergatta package of the arm and monitor after the fact! So happy, I ordered the Water Rower Club that is in Ash wood two toned, cheaper than the Cherry wood and matches my house better! Will give it a go with iFIT mirrored from iphone to my appleTV for awhile…if I lose motivation with that setup will then get Ergatta package..will save about $500 that way and split up the expense. I have been looking into reviews of Nordictrack Rower, especially for RW700, but most reviews are of RW900, but the differences between them is only the screen size. I have heard a lot of review that there has been problem the resistance not being stable such that either someone experiencing a lot more resistance than should or that there is no resistance at all. Another problem was that the strap that connects the handle to the flywheel for pulling snaps easily. I wanted to know if you had any of these problems with yours. Also, if anyone else watching this video has a RW700 or RW900, may you also inform me if you encounter any issue.
@Learnwithtravis2 жыл бұрын
I have had a comment about the strap. I only had the issue I mentioned in the video where the resistance was a little late coming in. I would read through the comments of videos though. A great resource to see what others are saying and have run into.

@richardmather1906 Жыл бұрын
If you are still looking, Concept 2 is midrange in price (around $1,000 with shipping) but is very high quality. The last a long time with just a little oil, and if something ever does wear out, you can order the part from Vermont and put it in yourself (they are not complicated). As for "track of strokes" and such, the monitor on the C 2 is the most sophisticated monitor out there. Does not do all this video stuff, but tracks everything you would wish, whether you are an average guy working out at home to a national class rower training for a meet. In fact, the C2 monitor has more functionality than any of the smart rower monitors. Few reviews point out that the smart rowers intentionally leave out the most basic functionality, the ability to program your workouts. With the C2 you can program workouts in time, distance, calorie. You can program intervals and variable intervals. The C2 supports the way people actually workout on rowing machines.

Respectively Travis, been using this machine over two years following the best Olympic champion instructors; accordingly, you are rowing incorrectly and in doing so, likely to hurt yourself. None of the champion instructors recommend leaning as far back in the row as you are demonstrating. They all recommend staying tall in the row and when bringing the handle into the body, do not pull up into the chest but into the midsection! Many regards!
