1980. My favorite Roger Moore character. As good a thriller as you can get, non-stop, fast-paced action to the end. People may think, it's only a movie, but men like Ffolkes actually existed, helping to keep England safe, and it's rather frightening to think they don't make them like that anymore, to continue protecting things. Single-minded, incorruptible, certain of the right way, decisive and loyal. Men like that are not allowed to take part in anything in the modern, P.C. correct socialist world of Britain today. The country will pay dearly for that some day, I think!

Capital has no patria, ‘socialism’ in the UK is simply funnelling wealth to the elites. Today’s capitalists move their wealth around the world at will, they have no loyalty to nations, countries or people’s, they are the globalists, and there is nothing socialist about them, unless controlling society and getting us to vote against oir own interests for the middlemen politicians who work for the rich, not for us.

As a Yank, I’ve always been fascinated at how such a modestly sized nation such as Great Britain could hold such sway over the world. The ffolkes character to me is a glimpse into the breed of men who made it happen for God, King and Country.

Brilliant film with a good ending As a cat owner myself I really love the ending when Roger Moore was given those 3 kittens Even better was that the lady from the boat presented the kittens to him Yes it's a movie and therefore only acting but still that kitten thing was just brilliant knowing that the character that Roger Moore played loved cats It was a rare human touch to a movie

Oh, Anthony Perkins. I think It’s ironic in this movie that he wants only men and no women on his crew. I have a young friend who’s husband would leave her alone to take care of their 2 young boys for 4 months at a time to serve time on a submarine for the US Navy. She had no idea what was going on until a nurse called her and told her that she she needed to be tested for the HIV virus. Fortunately she tested negative. Consequently she divorced that husband about 10 years ago and last year married another man. She and both her boys are very happy for her.

Fascinating - interesting plot, though still a few points unexplained. Almost a comedy in spots - and verging on a local amateur production. Roger has never been one of my favourite actors - too stiff and limited; though, the madness of his slightly unhinged character did give him a chance to extend beyond his busy eye crunches and eyebrow gymnastics - but those techniques are so firmly entrenched in his skill set that they were given full reign as if on steroids at times. Worth watching - if nothing better is on offer. Sadly we don't see right to the end and the credits are totally missing. This means that ads for further viewing options are thrown up over the last few scenes - shame!

What's really idiotic is that they made a terrible casting choice - the lady on the train frowning at ffolkes' smoking is the great Angela Thorne, who has twice done flawless versions of Margaret Thatcher, first in Sir Roger Moore's own James Bond Movie, 'For Your Eyes Only', and then in the epically funny comedy 'Anyone for Dennis' which is floating around on KZbin. Why they cast her as other than the PM escapes all possible comprehension !

A MASSIVE mistake right at the beginning. "Don't forget to feed "my" cats". They are not your cats. Cats own humans, at least in their own underdeveloped brains. Cat brains are exactly the same size as back in the days of the pharaohs, whereas dogs' brains are over 50& larger, since they are attached to humans in a way cats can never approach.

The University of Manitoba, working with the British Natural History Museum, carried out research on the skulls of dogs and cats, from the pyramids, and of today. The results were that the cat had EXACTLY the same sized brain as they did tens of thousands of years ago. Dogs, on the other hand, ALL had brains that were up to two thirds larger. Dogs have evolved, along with humans, in order to have an efficient and mutually productive relationship. Nothing to do with childish “my pets better than your pet”. GROW UP, child.

Its obvious unlike cats, SOME dog breeds have evolved from being selectively bred, trained and have worked with humans over thousands of years (working dogs such as Collies etc) but ask anyone with something like a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel today and they’ll tell you they’re thick as mince - which begs the question what the University of Manitoba would make of what goes on inside your head! BTW I’m a dog owner (had Beagles for over 30 years) but when I see posts from “Dogs are better than Cats” Spaniel brains like you, I despair at the drivel that comes out of the mouths of some dog tribalists.

FRANKLY I HAVE NEVER FOUND ROGER MOORE A CONVINCING ACTOR... ESPECIALLY AS JAME BOND!!! Obviously he is very photogenic & has had some excellent roles. Some of which when he is a bit player are very good to say the least. But as the LEAD... ??? Not in my humble opinion. Never the less I do watch his movies. I'm that kind of guy. Some people don't realize that they were only meant to be 'one-hit' wonders. Perkins should have stopped with the Bates Motel. He is "fluffing his Garfield" all the way through, being propped up by an international "gang" that has no business being in this film. Moore is just being the obnoxious prick that he is, using the bottle as his crutch much like Richard Burton does. What's with these alcoholic British actors?
